All of nature is about living in the moment. If the author keeps open eyes, they will learn to do the same.

I like today's reading. Like the author, I tend to find my most powerful spiritual connections when I'm out in nature. Nature for me has a way of erasing all the worry that humans can heap on life. It reminds me of what I really need and do not need, and helps me feel connected to life in a way that my screens cannot. When I'm mulling over a problem, time in nature tends to help me work things out without my needing to think too much. I'm grateful for the program reminder that I can live my life one day at a time, and enjoy where I am today.
I'm a bit sore, after slipping on the stairs on my 4th trip to let the puppy (whose owner really doesn't seem in a hurry to get him back) out last night. Grateful nothing is broken and that I was still able to walk the dogs as normal this morning.

I LOVE nature from trees to wildlife. Many years ago, I was an avid hiker for about 5 yrs, and hiked almost every weekend in a huge state park. When I was in the woods, and this is way before recovery, I felt at peace and all my worries temporarily disappeared. This was during a 5 yr relationship with an addict boyfriend. It was a truly troubled relationship, and yet those Sunday hikes in the woods took all the pain away.
Blessings are all around when I allow myself to see them. Im much better at seeing beauty these days since alanon. Lyne

Thank you, Skorpi, for today's share. I learn many lessons from nature, and it is refreshing to step away from the screens and see things in a different perspective. My current lesson has something to do with acceptance and not trying to control something I cannot control. I am incredibly grateful that my main problem these last few weeks has been trying to keep the deer and the wild turkeys from eating or damaging the beautiful new plants I have in front of my house. I love that these animals roam through our suburban neighborhood -- but I wish they would respect my boundaries. I'm trying different tactics, and thought I had the deer problem solved, but yesterday as I drove up to the house in late afternoon, there was this absolutely beautiful buck standing in the middle of my plants -- and I'm sure he ate some of them before I scared him off. Which is temporary. He'll be back.
In Al-Anon, when I was obsessed with the alcoholic, I heard the expression that alcoholics drink -- it's what they do. And when I don't accept that, I can act crazy. I have acted crazy with the animal situation -- running outside in my pajamas to yell at them to get off my lawn Now I can realize that deer eat plants -- it's what they do. Turkeys scratch the ground, looking for bugs to eat -- it's what they do. So, what am I going to do? Drive myself crazy fighting nature? Building a fence is not an option, and weapons are not an option. I realize that for my front yard, I may have to accept progress, not perfection. I may just have to pause and observe, over time, which plants the deer don't eat, and then plant more of that kind. Keep it Simple, Let Go and Let God, Easy Does It, Live and Let Live -- all that stuff, for everyday problems, which I am so grateful to have.

Happy Hump Day MIP family! I have also found great comfort and solace in nature. As I age in years and recovery, and slow life down keeping things simple, I marvel at the creations all around us. I find the song of birds magical, the colors/patterns of flowers, leafs, trees, and critters fascinatingly perfect and the lovely smells of nature to be soothing.
Before Recovery (BR), I rarely was present and thus took all of 'this' for granted. I no longer do so....and can truly center when I include the great outdoors in my day. With exception to the first day, I took a walk each day I was care-taking for my parents. I made sure I did not get too far away in case of an emergency yet opted to include nature as part of my self-care to keep as close to my normal routine as possible.
With this pandemic, there's no greater way to start my day than golfing at sun-up with my HP! Thank you Skorpi for your service and the daily. I hope your recovery from your fall is fast, and I too am glad you were not hurt! Thanks to all for your ESH and shares.

I don't actually worship nature, but am more into the divine essence that makes nature possible.
I see divine essence in the rooms as well- in the faces of members, in the stuff we all talk through...
...and slowly, I began to find it in myself as well... so blessed... ...
my mum taught me that the poo and wee the animals left on the ground turned into rich fertile soil.
I saw this for myself- with worms and other insects working too- all in harmony...
...I am still struggling for a tidy garden- but I love plants... and I have my hens too...
a sense of awe keeps me searching and striving. I was always a little jealous and angry that Americans seems to have therapists and people like that.
I worked at pruning my doctor's apricot trees- and was able to visit a physiotherapist. She has a facebook profile... and is a specialist in breathing issues and stored trauma.
With cash in hand I was ambitious and asked for two back to back appointments. I have never really been this forward before.
I needed every moment of this time. She was chuffed that i had followed her story- her narrative... which led to a great rapport.
So we have 30 mins next month.
-had a visit last night from an overseas member who has settled here... ...we got on really well...
and she is coming round next week too... looks promising...
...sun is streaming in right now- looks like the worst of winter is over here... I love my garden... ...
