Shift almost over. Got a 4-day weekend. Might show my gratitude by going to a meeting tomorrow. I might even bring treats. Cranberry white- chocolate chip cookies oughta do it. The job is getting to me and I haven't been doing it that long. But, how many jobs are there that are like walking into a room full of mirrors. Could be it's not the job. Could be me. Makes sense now. Good talk. Thanks.

(((Wolfie))) - those cookies sound really, really good! Enjoy your 4 day weekend. I've been taking meetings to a treatment center weekly and I can relate to the mirrors in the room. My AA recovery began in a treatment center a few 24 hours ago, and this does take me back. I always have to remind myself that I am there to keep learning, growing and sharing...it's not always easy!

Hi Wolfie-As we all know, everyday, every job, the people and situations we come in contact with, are not always the way we want them to be. I think that's where I seek help and find it from the steps and slogans. Easy does it, keep it simple, let go and let God, live and let live, and of course , the Serenity Prayer, all help keep me balanced. Life throws me curve balls on a regular basis. I am much better able to cope and find gratitude with program, Lyne

You bring much more than cookies. They are very lucky to have you. You're Alanon program will remind you to practice self care. We're all works in progress and too many mirrors from all sides can at times be overwhelming. Nothing lost by temporarily getting out of the glare and into balanced lighting provided by our hp. You do good work (((wolfie))) and even bring cookies! :) ((hugs)) TT

Sounds like you're doing well with just a bit of course correction.
Bad stuff, good stuff who knows? It is all stuff and hence life.
I'd forgotten about that song. Every so often one comes up like that and pokes me like stepping on a small but semi-sharp stone.
Have fun learning about you at the job.
Just saying hi myself in a way too fast world.

Hi, Bernie... ...
over half a week has gone round, since you shared. We have a small business, designed to provide for our retirement years. We did heaps of work on this to get it established- at the beginning of the year. Just need, now, to keep things ticking over. We had major plumbing issues to deal with it too- and we rode that out, almost literally. ...
I used to say that a problem shared was a problem doubled. It could be like that without the peace and love of the programme. I turned in my mountain job in March. I miss it. But I was exhausted every night and my yard looks like a rainforest!
I hope it sounds like I have a sense of humour. I want this for myself- and some fun and laughter sometimes- some rewards... ...and, yes too... I get a treat from time to time... ...

Work is a big trigger for.me. This weekend I worked with a supervisor who is a micro manager. Thankfully for 6 weeks.with my new schedule I.do not have to deal.with this.
I.can find those events very very triggering. I know for.me the work issues are on both parts. There are two.sides to every story.
I will have two jobs through to the end of the year. At sometime in 2020 I will be able to go down to one job.
That will be a relief.
So.far for.me it is one day off a week if I am lucky until the end.ofbthe year. The good thing is I recouped my losses from the company that did not pay me .
New beginnings next year!!!
Maresie
