Thee C2C reading for Tuesday, July30, my birthday speaks about finding " happiness". The reading suggests that happiness is an 'inside job'and that we cannot be happy all the time but if we are willing to break old habits and work hard to achieve our goal we can change our negative attitudes.
The quote is from Robert Frost:"our very life depends on everything recurring until we answer from within
Great reason to clear out the negative tools

Happy Birthday, Betty! Thank you for todays reading and your continued service for us at MIP.
I cant imagine the amount of time I have wasted in my life waiting to be MADE happy by someone else. My moods were dictated by others moods. I now know that it is all up to me how I feel; I have a choice in my mood. It takes self awareness and willingness to change. Changing the things I can!
Happy Tuesday and Happy Birthday again, Betty!

Happy Birthday! I loved this reading and also today's One Day at a Time. I know it's written for everyone but in my mind particularly fitting for a birthday girl. The day belongs to you!

Happy Birthday, Betty!! You share the day with my MIL, a very special and loving lady... so you are in good company!
Yes, I have learned that happiness is an inside job! I make it a point to stop the negative thinking that pops into my head, and change it into a more positive spin... much like Willie Wonka does in the movie! LOL!
Enjoy some TLC today, it's your day!!

Happy, happy birthday Betty - thank you for the daily, your service and the selfless giving of ESH you always bring to us here @ MIP! May your day be simple, full of joy and serenity...
I too spent so much time looking for love in all the wrong places as well as happiness. While I heard that happiness is an inside job before I came to recovery, I was just not capable or tooled to figure it out. I always returned to my will and my ways over time, until I embraced recovery. The simple approach to practicing recovery one day at a time provided me with a blueprint that I can use each day, one day at a time.
I no longer concern myself with what others are/are not doing, and instead pray when I am troubled, concerned, worried, etc. There is a peace that is like no other when I am able to set aside my will and my ego and instead allow the God of my understanding to drive the bus.
Happy, happy Tuesday MIP family - thanks to all above me for your shares and ESH! I took a break from morning golf and actually slept in later than I have in years. I am golfing later today with a new golfer who recently joined our group. Like another share, I feel that the change of my daily plan/routine is a gift from my HP, who knows exactly what I need and when I need it! Make it a great day!
