I am so grateful that my Ah is now my friend again. I guess things just work out w/ prayer & patience God can really work miracles. I believe that our marriage is a gift from God. He healed me & now my Ah is not angry or frustrated anymore. But this a one day at a time program. I am just grateful for today & know that love conquers all. He didn't know what he was doing except he knew that he was in a shaky place & didn't want to go there. I'd like to say that we did it but by the grace of God & everyone in my corner who love & care about got me get through all of it!
Yesterday was pretty awesome. We went to a nice place to eat & had shrimp & lobster & other yummy stuff for our 20th anniversary. I have to tell you that from Saturday--to Tuesday I wasn't sure we would make it. I used some of my tools in my toolbox. Truth be known that we both are in AA & Al anon for many years & we still slip sometimes & a lot. But, I guess after 20 years we know each other so well that sometimes we forget we are different. Does that make any sense?
I am tired & need a nap!

Kathleen... I think these regular conversations with our peers has a calming and healing influence...
I don't think that our SO's can absorb those wholeheap of unmet needs we seem to come up with.
I have worked on being friends with my SO, consciously, for 4 or 5 years now- and it has paid off. She was not perfect either- and our attempts to fix each other were pretty messy...
So a big high five to you... one day at a time, of course, but so far we have made it! ...
