Tell me what to do. This is the shorter version of the 3rd step prayer my HP guided me to say. It is short and precise and then I listen. My HP then would responded to me from HP's need and I respond. The consequence has been that both HP and I share in the outcome as well as any others I have been directed to helping.
But now I am the one seeking direction and solution as it seems my condition and balance is and has been attacked. Of course it has been before and that Is why I am a fulltime member of our program and this time I am more put off other then to practice what I have in the past and has worked in the past.
I need to practice patience. My reaction behaviors are not really good and in the past not really acceptable. So in the moment my Higher Power has the situation as it exists and as it exists as I think it exists. Could I be wrong? I know how to be that. Gonna let go and let God.

Jerry..... you are wiser than most, more patient than most, and use your toolset better than most (myself included, for all three points).
Be gentle with yourself, my friend.... the answers for you will become clearer, as you get back to your grounding...

How fortunate that we don't have figure it all out all by ourselves. I appreciate what's said in our Alanon Welcome at our meetings. "So much depends on our own attitudes, and as we learn to place our problem in it's true perspective, we find that it looses it's power to dominate our thoughts and our lives. OK... fine, rationally I know that but sometimes the heart and mind refuse to cooperate. Often it's because I thought I could manage, expected myself to manage because of years in recovery. But no slip for me comes without a warning sign. In that moment, I ignore and push forward for whatever reason. It could be to not disappoint another, not miss out on something, believe I have the power to do it on my own. I can confuse arrogance for confidence and self-esteem. Whatever the case, god didn't get the invite until it's clean up the mess time.
I like your prayer Jerry. I will certainly use it but it's remembering to use such prayers that always gets me. "You're not alone." We say that when referring to one another but it resonates even more for me today concerning my higher power. I too, was in reaction mode. I forgot about compassion, detachment and kindness. I got selfish and unreasonable about guarding my serenity. In a word, my attitude just sucked.
I'm grateful to pull a chair up next to yours at this board and feel less alone with falling short today of my hp's will for me. I surely know my actions were not aligned.

I love this abbreviated version and have added it to my toolbox! My world is temporarily turned upside down a bit simply because my parents are here! They are lovely house guests, and I'm grateful to still have them....I just feel disorganized and 'spread out' which is real facts as I've vacated my room and am upstairs in another bedroom, which also has me sharing a bathroom with my youngest son - a real challenge and trial in loving patience and tolerance.
I love what Tom wrote as it's so, so true. You are worthy and being gentle to hear that which you seek will bring you what you need! I trust that with my heart and soul and we do know it works when we work it! (((Hugs)))) brother - you got this!!

I have your feedback and input family and most definitely keep it in front of me and ponder what life has been like without it. I still remember the heat and horror of hell when I wandered around there and added my own insanity and now I will look at it with the vision of a power greater than myself standing by. I love you all...(((((hugs)))))

I heard a member of this fellowship say the answer to all our problems is get closer to your higher power and the reason for all our problems is we are too far from our higher power. Prayer and meditation Jerry x

((((((((((((((((((((((Jerry)))))))))))))))))))) as someone said here, you practice your whole program better then most....and who doesn't need to be reminded about patience??? in HP's timing, not mind....ohhhh that has been my archilles heel for a long time...I'm progressing, but not there, not even close as yet....I find that when I am after instant gratification, no matter what it is, it is because I am disconnected from my truest and most high self....my HS is my portal to the infinite power of the divine which is waiting for me to settle down with me and go wtih the flow..When I go with the flow, the ride is better and seems to feel "more swift" maybe more swift because I am out of the way, not trying to "push" the result................You got this Brother!!!!!!

{{{{Jerry}}}} PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION is the only way to go. We are all on this journey and cannot do everything well, each and every day. We all slip back, but forward motion returns. One of my biggest problems has been (gently) confronting my son. I just did it, told him he has been hurting my feelings, and he apologized! Hang in there. oh yea, lyne, i am a HUGE fan of Deepak Chopra and also the Dalai Lama ......yep..whatever arises, can subside...the ebbs and flows of life are inevitable, but we CAN respond better..Sometimes i just go take a nap or blast my tunes and rock out working out on my rowing machine, so I can DETACH....give it no more resistance and answers come only when my mind is settled down.............(((((((((((((((((((((((((((Jerry)))))))))))))))))))))))) its gonna be fine, brother.....You are too loving and kind and you build loving/good karma, you will be OK
