Let's focus on US and what we have been doing to make our lives better

I have been reading posts and a consistent theme is "put the focus back on ourselves".
I spent some time outside today, planting some seeds, watering, and just enjoying the beauty of this time of year. I haven't done any painting in a while, so today I worked a little on one--added some "movement" to the picture that I felt satisfied with.
Did you do anything just for yourself that you want to share?

I also worked the yard after spending some time with my psy therapist getting the weeds out of my mind, body, spirit and emotions. Had to watch my step on both endeavors cause things are/were kinda sorta slippery. Just came back in from a second trip to the slope back yard and have the ocean breeze cooling off my fire ant bitten back. It will be better in a while. It is what it is. ((((Hugs))))

I figured out how to load and transport the canoe so I didn't have any remaining things at the rental house to pick up after the end of April. This really reduced my stress level!

I asked for help from another for a ride from work for my son as we had flash flooding in many areas, and my car rides really low to the ground! This allowed me to also be of service to my senior age dog who is absolutely terrified of thunder/lightning and storms. I was able to sit on the floor with her for much of the day in a gentle, loving embrace!

This past weekend I cleared an area in my yard, installed some lattice, and planted sweet peas! I also finished my yard art project that I am giving to my friend for her B-Day gift!
I am happy you shared you are painting again!

This past weekend was scheduled as a girlfriend weekend that we planned over 6 months ago. It had been an extremely stressful week and I was tempted to cancel to be around for others. Nope! I knew I needed the weekend away and 2 days away wouldnt hurt anything. It was a wonderful getaway and I am so glad I kept the focus on me after a week of caring for others.

I joined CrossFit (going on three months now), and am loving it! A wonderful program that combines all kinds of exercise, and also taught me tons about eating and diet. I am thrilled to say that I have lost 30lbs (much needed), and am feeling great.
There is a strong correlation between feeling physically fit and emotionally fit, at least for me.
Cheers

Ignutah, and y'all...
18 months ago I was at our Alanon Assembly... we always have an auction- which is a lot of fun.
I won some gladioli bulbs. They looked very flat and lifeless. But I planted in the spring- September... only one actually struck.- but is had a beautiful show of flowers.
As a kid we had large grounds and gardens- but no-one tended them. The lawns were never mowed. So it has been a slow grind for me- throughout life to get rid of clutter- and get my life in order.
We have frosts here- and I made a note in the calendar to lift the bulb- and find a safe place for it over the winter. I lifted it this week- it was the size of a duck's egg!
it had not sprung any offshoots- so it will only be one lot of flowers this year. I love those flowers- even in anticipation!
