Just wanted to Update from my Previous Post, I SURVIVED :) I Fed 25 Peeps, and All seemed Happy to be there, so that was Enough, there was a Few that Couldn't make it, but I Didn't Expect ANY so My Day was Not Ruined by the 10 that Couldn't... It was a Tough one, and Not Just because of My Dad's Birthday/Passing but ON Thanksgiving, My Aunt decided to Make an announcement, (My Mom's Sister) She decided that she no Longer wanted to be Of this earth, She has been a diabetic pretty much all her life, (and Never Listened to Doctors) and she was also getting Radiation for Breast Cancer, and Some Other Medical issues she didn't face early on... So The Doctors stopped all Meds on Thanksgiving Per her Request, All Everything and she Past Just Yesterday Morning around 2am...
My Mom was One of 10 kids, and My Aunt was 77... I Wish I Could Say she Lived a "Good Life" but she was just one of those that Always Found the Worst in Every Situation as we know that doesn't leave Much Room for Fun & Living... I Like to Believe tho now she is in a Better Place, Maybe where she can Find the Peace she couldn't find here on earth...
So I Have Another Long week ahead, with taking care of my 94 yrs old Gram, and Attending my Aunt's Funeral, but I'm Doing OK... And This Friday I get to Take my First trip to NYC so I'm Over the Moon Excited to see it for the First time, and I'm Hoping the Getting away for a weekend will help me get back to a better place when I Return Home...
I Just Want to Thank you ALL For Your Love, ESH & Journey... I Did at the End of the Evening "Cry in my Pillow" As figured, however, it was After I Read ALL Your Love that you Shared with me here, So the Cry ended up being more of an Acceptance then a let down... You have All Carried me thru so Many Scary things In my Life these last 10yrs, and whether you just say "Thinking of You!" "Or Sending Prayers" "Or I don't have anything to add just here in Support!" Know that I Am Truly Grateful for you...
I Try my best DAILY not to Sit on the "Pity Pot" of Life that can so Easily come at times, and I Push myself sometimes to "Think More Positively" and I'm Getting A lot Better at Turning that Over too HP and Doing my Best to Go with the Flow of Life... but I Also know I Couldn't Do it without all of you... When I Go to Bed at Night, You & My F2F Family, all are Like the Warm Blanket I Wrap up in... That is when I Hear your Words the Most, and Feel your Compassion, and Caring... So Please Know even if I Don't "Respond" Right away, I AM GRATEFUL You took the time to Read, and Respond at all... TRULY
Christmas time for me seems to Help as I Invite ALL my, Grandkids, Nieces & Nephews and NOW Great Niece & Great Nephews over for a Sleep Over and they Help me Decorate my Monster Tree that My Son Picks out, We Pig out on Pizza, and Cookies, and Just Be together ;) My Sister Usually stays too so Its Time with her as well :) When you have a House of about 15 kids that Range in Age from 3months old to 21yrs old you seem to locate the Happy you had been Missing for the Month... It is a Tradition I Started 14 yrs ago with my Grandkids and it has Grown in Numbers ever Since... THEY Give me the Spirit for the Season...
So Yes It has been a Rough, and Winding Road this last 2wks with all that is going on, but I'm on the Upside today and for that I'm Grateful... I Never know how long it will last, but when its Here I Try to Face it with Gratitude... So I Hope you all have Found your Happy Place, and Know you are Appreciated By Me Often... I Love that we are Growing Together.. Or In My Case :) Growing UP...

Jozie - so, so glad that your day was good and blessed! I am so sorry to hear about your aunt passing and the upcoming funeral. At least she went quickly upon making her decision...I view that as a miracle!
We had 49 attend our Thanksgiving and that's the largest we've had since my aunt passed away several years ago. She's got 6 kids and her unexpected passing sent them all off in different directions. All but one made it, and the one who did not is currently going through cancer treatment in another state - unable to travel/attend. My whole clan made it, which has been rare also. It was a good day and we too survived! The worst thing that happened was my youngest little guy stripped over a tree stump and got a bloody nose - we survived!
I find the holidays get easier as I continue working this program as best I can each day. I was told early on that it's just another day and that's become true for the most part. I often have a few more things to do for 'it' but I can handle anything with God's help - another part of each day!
Just keep doing you and doing the next right thing! Your trip to NYC sounds FUN!!! I hope you have a blast! Grateful you're part of my journey! (((Hugs)))

I Too Agree I'm Grateful it went quick for her, the Funeral was Tough Mainly because even tho she wasn't happy here on earth, she still had 5 brothers & 2 sisters here that still Loved her, and sitting there seeing the strongest men I Know Weeping sure pulls at a girls heart strings, but I'm Grateful I could be there with each of them and Wrap my arms around them Many times :) They have always been the "More Normal" side of My Family...lol Unlike Dad's Side that is Riddled with Disease :/
WOW 49 People, that is So Wonderful... I Think the Largest Number I have had in all the years I've Cooked was like 44, but Boy was it a Great Day... My Program sure has changed a lot of "How I Handle a Holiday"... I Know longer run around making sure everyone has everything they need, and Hurry to do dishes, and Rush to make sure all is Hot at One Moment, or even Hold Dinner for those that are not timely...lol Now I Prepare & Prep, Announce for all to help their Self, and then I Take time to Sit and Enjoy the Kids playing, and Running about, I Take the time to sit with My Mom and Check about her Day, and I Take the Time to Speak to my Kids, and Grandkids... I have Found that to be The Best Part of My Day :) So I Hope your House full of Love, found you at Total Joy :)
Very Glad your Youngest is Ok, My Boy got his Grace from Me...So We have Experienced Many Bump & Bruises and Bloody noses along the way as well :) And Now he is 21 and Gets Most of them from Working... But Believe me He Still Gets them...lol :D
I'm Super Excited about My Trip, and Thank you... I have Never Been and It Just the Girls so I'm Hoping for a Great time... The Weather Looks Like Rain, but even that isn't going to bum me out... I have Always Wanted to Just Go to Visit it this time of Year, and My Husband has NO Desire...lol Soooo Girls it is ;) Something else to knock off my "Bucket List of Life" :)

Your trip sounds lovely - simply lovely!!! Rain in the forecast (to me) is way better than crippling snow! I love my time with my gal pals - I am grateful that I have a good group of friends going all the way back to HS. We text and chat all day, every day....and try to gather several times a year. Of course, I also have a great group of softball gals, golf gals, program gals, etc. - I feel truly blessed with fellowship from a variety of sources.
I too am way more chill today about holidays. It always works out and it's always way better than I expected. Of course, a changed attitude and outlook from this program surely facilitates that. And, as a friend of mine used to say at every meeting, gathering, etc. before he passed from this earth - It's All About the Gratitude! He had life issues from all sides - medical, family, housing, employment, etc. yet he was always in gratitude - so, so miss him.
I am sorry the funeral was so difficult, yet I am thrilled to see you were able to be present and be of service. Keep doing you girl - looks awesome on you! (((Hugs)))
