Today: the big challenge to my stop...breathe...wait...respond over reacting
I had a LOT of stuff, people, animals, "Stuff" come at me with challenges to "react right now" I didn't...I stopped....I waited until both upper and lower parts of my brain were in sync...I did step 10---LOTS and I responded with good action...
It wasn't just ONE incident, it was a BUNCH and low and behold, I think the program is growing on me some more...not once did I knee jerk and I had others tempt me to do just that, but I did not...I held firm...."when in doubt--don't" or "when not sure----WAIT" like how many times do we Reeeely have to act RIGHT NOW!! THIS INSTANT??? Not many times if I look back...99.5% of the stuff is an "i can do step 10 on this and respond rather than knee jerk react"
I really thought I would never get past this (one of my biggest negative coping skills) but by golly I am getting past it...
Today was my proof..I'm not going to analyze it and try and see if there is yet a BETTER way I could have done things...I am satisfied with progress over perfection...and ya know??? I was able to get a nap in and disconnect from all the trials of today...
Missus Puppy is doing great...She has an "owie" on her tail, where something scratched the fur off so I had to "clean" it with peroxide down to the "meat" to sterilize and let it really heal so the fur will grow back....Shes doing great except when she drags my tired rear end out of bed at 2 or 3 or 4 am to go to restroom......Junior, my wild kitty friend is still missing...I'm starting to worry...Got his nest made for him to crash and get out of the cold and elements and havn't seen him for nearly a week....He's probably out "courting" and I'm trying to trap him so I can take him to shelter to get him neutered and ruin his fun, LOL...Sure hope the little buggar is ok
anyway, just wanted to stop in and share my HUGE growth spirt....GOD it feels good to SEE program in action...Makes me want to keep persevering...

Rose, this is a level, a depth, whatever you want to call it, of recovery...that most people do not achieve. It is a place where you have changed, and in many ways, and all for the better. You have started to live the program, you live your life according to the program, the steps, the healthy way. The program has now become a way of living for you, it has become, to some extent, innate. The program has become how you live. It has become a curriculum for living -- and you are living it!!!
In all of my experience, in program, and in self-work, self-growth, self-improvement, advanced, adult, education and personal growth -- not many people achieve what you have achieved. Many people are in denial and fool themselves and others that they have, but they haven't. You live your life with a clarity that most people can't even fathom and understand.
And, now, the most wonderful life, the most incredible life, a life that you could have never even imagined when you were in the abyss, is right there in front of you, it is there for you to go out and attain and live.
I can't tell you how much I admire and respect you, and the amount of work you have done on you and for you. You wanted to get better, more than anything in the world...and you went and did it, you did the work and now it's paying off, exponentially!!! Enjoy it. Embrace it. Let it empower you to go out and do more, get more, enjoy more -- and you will live and enjoy life to the fullest. You deserve it!!! You are an inspiration to all of us who want to see what is truly possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you Rose. All the best that life has to offer!!!
