In the past, I wished that I were responsible for the entire universe and imagined that I had the power to carry that out. If only everyone did things my way, everything would be perfect. And just to make things more difficult, I didn't even tell others what my way was; I expected them to know and was disappointed when they could not read my mind.
As I have discovered, my way is not always the best way -- and even when it is, I cannot accomplish it alone. Imagining that I had universal power only made me frustrated and lowered my self-esteem, because I was trying to achieve the unachievable.
Forgiving myself, knowing that I did what was in my hula hoop at the time, has freed me to enjoy serenity.

Good morning Freetime and thank you for your service and the daily. I too have had to learn through repeated lessons that I am powerless over so many things! As much as my ego used to tell me my way was the right way, I am better today at surrendering and believing in a plan by one greater than I who has a broader view of the world/universe.
Allowing life to unfold and focusing on my small piece has given me much more compassion and empathy for myself and others. It is in recovery that I found I am not alone, 'life' happens to everyone and a spiritual foundation helps me greatly when I am faced with difficult situations. I do like that the quote reminds us that God is awake even if we aren't!!

I like this reading, especially today. I'm 5 days away from the start of a conference I am hosting, and there are SO MANY details and things to do at the last minute. I love the reminder to focus on doing my part, and letting HP take care of the rest.

Thank you, Freetime for the daily, but especially thank you for your honest share!!! I almost cried as I read it, b/c I could've wrote it, word for word! This past month has been hard b/c I have had to use the properties of this reading each and every day. My Kid was in the process of eliminating Leukemia or another form of blood cancer for his odd symptoms... and the process was sooooooo looooooong!
I had told my son, "Let's not worry until the doctor gives us something to worry about, OK?" And I so wanted to believe that, but I must say it was very difficult for me. So as usual, I hid my uneasiness. But it was there, every day, in the back of my mind. But without having this quote, I really tried to give this up to my HP each night. Wed. night of this week, I prayed that we would get good news... and I did a round of Tapping to reinforce that belief. I went to sleep... my Ex texted me twice saying that the suspense was keeping him awake... but I was still able to sleep. I guess that means my faith in my HP is growing!
After discussing all the tests, the doctor feels confident that my Kid doesn't have Leukemia, nor any other blood cancer or autoimmune disease. He was diagnosed with "Idiopathic Neutropenia," with a repeat blood test in 4 months. Some of the other symptoms he's attributing to teen hormones.
As I move forward, I am going to embrace Victor Hugo's quote: "Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake."
