In my dream I was in a car with a friend and ah. They had agreed amongst themselves that ah would drive, even though he wasn't insured, and the car was an ambulance! We had only just set off and I was wrestling with the'this is wrong' feeling, when my ah crashed into another vehicle. All of a sudden there were police everywhere.
In my dream I heard myself pray to God that everything turns out ok. Then I got out of the vehicle, and went to a cafe across the road, had a cup of tea and flicked through a magazine. I was thinking, this isnt my issue!
My dream was vivid. I think there are some Al anon teachings in there too! I didn't try to fix or get involved. My side of the street was clean!

Thanks for sharing - I am one who believes dreams can be lessons, just as all else that I encounter each day...(((Hugs)))

Shortly after my leaving my AH, I had similar dreams too! I am a true believer that dreams can offer us lessons, validations, and subconscious ways to work out things our awake brains are too overloaded for.
If you wanted to entertain a "quasi-analysis" of this dream... you are facing something at the moment that you have no control of (duh!). It may be the your AH's drinking and driving is a strong issue for you, or it might not be that obvious. However, you make a conscious effort to turn whatever "IT" is over to the God of your understanding. You then told yourself, "Not my circus, not my monkeys," all while doing something nice (coffee in a cafe) for you! I see this as your mind's way of validating what you are learning to employ at Al-Anon/MIP!
As you said, 'Your side of the street was clean!' Good for you!
Thank you for sharing and opening this up for discussion!
Peace to you, A nother.

A nother I just love the metaphor of detachment and letting go from inside your share...I hear the 3Cs and the slogan "Let go and Let God" and "When I learned to love her I gave her back her life." Mahalo soooo much. ((((hugs))))
