This is a great reminder for me to take care of myself ,focusing on myself.
Instead of taking care of others,in which I have been guilty of forgetting myself in order to take care of others needs n wants,
In doing so I found my own life being neglected,
Today I'm learning to say no ,and it being a complete sentence,as many times as I need to.
It works,or has been for me,,,thanks to program and my hp................enjoying my day today.....hugs Looking up

I appreciate beyond mere words how I am able to come here each day and get some tidbit of wisdom that will keep be centered and focused in my program. I too gave up myself care for others... learning how to get that back and keep it consistent in my life!

Greetings all and happy Saturday! I too tried to control others and was a fountain of perpetual advice. Today, I instead try to offer support and allow others the dignity to live as they see fit even if/when it seems so vastly different than what I would do.
Coming to Al-Anon, and accepting I am powerless over people, places and things brought about a set of differences and freedom I never expected. I am grateful also beyond words.
I've had a slow down and care for me day - nice and relaxing....hope everyone has been having a great day!

I think I had to change my DNA! ... what the world expects- and what society expects. Some people are expecting to be hard nosed and aggressive... others to help others... what do I choose. Family, to me acted tough- "take no prisoners". Confusing... learning to listen well helped me. To give where giving was due. And to leave others to themselves- when I needed to take care of me... thanks... ...

Thank you lu, it's a perfect time for a reminder. Here I am reading everyones great ESh's after a person crossed over my boundary line. I need to get to the place of "no" as a complete sentence and stay there LOL! Progress not perfection. I hate it when I still find myself making an excuse vs just stating facts in love.

THANK YOU LU!!!!! great message for me to read...and yea, it took a while for me to learn: focus on ME because ME is the only thing I can change...give others my experience, strength and hope and let them chart their course..yea, i tell them what I did/would do in same situation, but NEVA give advice..if it backfires, they will blame ME..so no advice...step back and let the universal life principle do its energy, whatever that may be....as to "letting life happen" I see nothing wrong with wanting something and setting energy in motion, doing research, visualizations if it feels really right for me to do/have this, but after I do ALL I can do, THEN step back, let the energy flow where its supposed to flow...and I learned that its a full time job, focusing on me, interferring in other's lives is not only unfair and disrespectful to them, but it robs them of their lessons they need to learn...AND it robs ME of ME........Love your share....Thank you for your service
