Since this is the 7th month a few meetings I have attended in the last week have focused on step 7. I went to a wonderful meeting this morning. I wanted to raise my hand and share but chickened out! lol. One thought that struck me and what I took away from the meeting is that our higher power, I choose to call it God, already knows our needs. But he likes to be asked for help. This thought in itself was humbling to me. The idea that a loving God is watching over me. I ask for his help and guidance in the form of prayer and meditation.

Don't worry about "chickening out." You will share at your meeting when the time is right. I found that even when I don't say a word, I take away so much!
I had a set-back this weekend... thank you for reminding me that my HP is taking care of me, and it will all work out for me! Because of your reminder, I am choosing to let the worry about this thing go.

I love your share, "he likes to be asked" is kinda sorta a mix on the ideas and experiences I have with my HP. My Higher Power at times takes the personality of a female a Wahine in Hawaiian practice and I have been blessed during my recovery journey to be led by my HP using females. MIP is one location when I get the humble, love and direction I've needed. Yes of course I have used the male gender in description of HP and yet not always. I don't confine my HP to rigid perceptions and my relationship with HP has been wide and strong. My HP can and has used whatever has been available to be used and useful for recovery.
On only one of the many occasions in my life where HP's presence has made itself known a teaching surgeon who had performed a surgery on my broken ankle remarked after that He knew why he had to do the surgery, showing me the break that was there and then telling me he didn't know why then he as he showed the after surgery xray that revealed no break. "There is something bigger than me here that I don't understand" is what he said at leaving. The next medical person into the room was my anesthesiologist who happened to be a man I sponsored in Al-Anon. I didn't know it at the time and he didn't know about my raspatory make up as he set me up for the surgery. He came to apologize for the pain he caused in my face for having to force the tubes into place on the third attempts while kneeling on my chest. I had no pain from start to finish and have come to accept that my HP was abiding with me then and still now.
I have learned that the opposite of fear is love and that love is one definition of the name of HP. We are all in very good hands when we come to accept that there is a power much more greater than ourselves. "Let go and Let God" isn't a trite idea as I first thought. Keep coming back. ((((hugs))))

Great share and great topic.....when I am humble enough to ask for help, I've never been let down. It may not come in the form I thought I needed but I always get exactly what I need. I learned in Al-Anon that wants and needs are not the same and I am grateful today that I want for very little when my needs are met.
I have never left a meeting feeling the same as I arrived - always better....keep coming back and keep trusting the process and program! It does work when we work it!
