If so, how do I send a private message to ask? I am on a mobile device but could get on a computer if that is required. P.S. Iām not asking my local group bc the people currently running it have not done the steps and they ran off all of the experienced leaders with their gossip and backstabbing. So the local group has totally let me down and yes there is only one where I am.

Great that you are going to get a sponsor. It was the very best step I made in alanon. Very sad to hear about your local face to face meeting. Is it the ONLY one in the area? If so, that's too bad. Yes, I don't see any reason why you couldn't ask someone from here. Keep in mind -- this is not a conference approved alanon forum/meeting. Sending a PM is easy -- just click on their name and it takes you to their profile. The option to send a PM is right there.

If you want to send a private msg I think you click on the person's name or do a search for their name. That should get you on to their profile where you can leave a private msg. Not sure how online sponsoring works, I'm sure you will get a reply on that from someone with more experience here than me. Sorry to hear about your negative experiences with your home group.

Jayla - you can also attend the meetings here and put in the request....that will give you more opportunity to see shares and to seek out one who 'has what you want'. As Sorcha suggests, if you click through a member's name, you should see the option to send a message - I am not entirely sure if it's available on the mobile application or not but do know it's available on the desktop application.

It's like there are momma bears and poppa bears in this group... who guide things along here. I read your post last night- but waited to see what others would say.
I came here from a group, a f2f group that fell apart... being here is really helpful- because we do have combined experience here- from all over the world! ...
the question you raised is what we call a group conscience issue... so it is up for discussion by group members. There is leadership here- through the group conscience-
but we don't really have any bossy-boots leaders. [tradition One}
None of us is perfect- and neither is the group itself... we just do our best- with what we have got. ...
