Today's Reminder: Looking back, I see many examples of the grace of a Power greater than myself at work in my life. I see progress in being restored to sanity, and I am increasingly confident that my progress will continue.

This is a great reading to me because I spent years comparing myself to others and always falling short. I think my sponsor taught me that Compare=Despair. It is refreshing to hear that I only need to look at myself, how I was and how I am today. And today with program, I'm in much better shape in every possible way. Hello Lyne Great topic for today I do believe that prior to program, I automatically compared 'Everything " that I encountered during the day. I evaluated myself against an unrealistic scale and usually found myself lacking.
I love how the program pointed out that this was another attitude that needed changing and that simply by using the tools, I would discover that when'I compare i despair" and that it is best to simply look at myself only and compare myself today to how i acted a year or a month ago. That helped greatly and gave me more material for my gratitude list

Lyne - thanks for your service and the daily. Thank you also and Betty for your shares and ESH. I was competing and comparing for my entire life, at least as long as I can remember backwards. I never measured up and it was a ton of time wasted. I'm grateful that Al-Anon suggested I just focus on me and that which I could change. I also am grateful that we are asked to consider progress as success vs. perfection. My approach, outlook and attitudes before recovery were all about perfection and perception. Today, I prefer authentic and real no matter what it is. Trusting in a HP helps me look for the facts and what is instead of what I think it should be.
Happy Monday to one and all. Off to golf with my son first thing in the AM. It's taken a lifetime (his) to find something of common interest, and in all my days, I never thought it would be golf...yet it is. Make it a great day!!
