This has now become an inside joke with some friends and I. It's now my new catch phrase.
Something that made me laugh is talking to my gentleman fellow coffee groupie is exchanging stories at the moment about kids. Hearing the phrase "I got this" seems to have a similar effect on those of us with kids. I had the biggest laugh though and I believe it's this generations current phrase.
I so don't got this, let's just get that clearly stated. I have got parts of this. I have different perspective about what I do and don't got.
A big fat nothing. Right now I don't know if I should pray that my kids schooling gives her another chance or if she just needs to be removed from that atmosphere and go to community college and work his way back. Ok that's the first time I have used that pronoun .. go me. :) I don't know and I am asking for prayers of whatever the middle ground best choice for my kiddo is, I am trying to let go and hold on at the same time. Fear, frustration, and other "F" words apply to my thought process today and I just need to remove them.
I got reminded of something Mr. Rogers said in one of his programs which applies to my life today .. what do I do with my mad? I don't remember what he said in regards to that and I don't know why the phrase came to me today. I was thinking about him and his neighborhood. Go figure. Tomorrow will be D day for the kid and the college answer. So we will see.

Hi Serenity-I can relate to your share in that I have a grown up son, and at times I'm just baffled by some of his behavior even though I love him to pieces and he is basically an excellent person . I am aware of the mistakes I made and have forgiven myself. He and I forgive each other. And currently we are seeing an addiction counselor together with my spouse as they have not been socializing since last year. I try to use my tools and go with the flow. Let go and let God. Lyne .. I have a 15 year old in an 18 year old body at the moment. I want to do family counseling .. kid's not having it. Hugs.

(((Serenity))) - I chuckled at, "I got this..." My phrase for a long while with my closest people when asked how I was - "Living the dream....and you?" Of course it was very much like your scenario - things were far from 'dreamy' in my world.
What you do have that I see is compassion, courage, program, HP and unconditional love. I believe that's more than enough, just for today. We'll see what tomorrow brings and then deal/heal then. (((Hugs))) - your kids are so lucky to have you!

Congrats on using the pronoun your kiddo wants - for the 1st time!!!! See, you DO "gots this!" LOL! In time, these things will get easier, b/c the fears will diminish as you tackle each thing. Keep doing you. Your kiddo is luckier than he realizes to have you as a parent!
I will say a prayer to my HP for the result that's best for your kiddo on tomorrow's college decision!
