My AH is coming up on (maybe) 3 months sober, but he came home tonight and I suspect heās been drinking. I think I smell it, under a lot of minty gum. Heās acting just a little off. I hate this feeling of distrust, worry, anger (for maybe being lied to), guilt (for maybe being wrong in my suspicion). I have a breathalyzer keychain that could maybe solve the mystery, but Iāve never wanted to be that wife. Clearly having a hard time detaching...

Most of the time, your intuition will be right. But either way, no alcoholic can successfully hide it for long. If he is drinking, it will become slam dunk obvious soon.
So.....knowing that...
You have no need to play detective. Work on assuring yourself you will be ok regardless. However you get to that spot is you alanon program and solution. I know it sucks to feel lied to or like he's trying to make a fool of you. That is not it though. That is the disease.

Welcome to the board Cim. I'm glad you found us and sad that you are another family member spouse involved in the disease of alcoholism. Yes we are pushed around and shoved by this tricky conniving fatal disease until we end up doing that one magical thing of reaching out to others who also are affected by alcoholism. My alcoholic addict wife had more ways up her sleeve to get a drink than I could imagine.
Stick around on the board as other family members come by to offer their experience strength and hope with you. (((((hugs)))))
