today's one day at a time(odat) talks about if we really know that we're happy or not happ,that we are to look down deep within ourselves for the answers to our self,
we think we are dissatisfied with what we have,with the way we live,and the way other ppl act toward us,
our daily ,a alanoner,suggested that each person dig down deep to see what we really feel would bring us contentment,
could it be envie of others?
Is it our inability of our own shortcomings,look for excuses to blame others?
odat goes on to say how I can find serenity only by rooting out my discontent,an I must acknowebto myself the real reasons why I react as I do.
Am I doing my share?
mif not ,my dissatisfaction may be due to unrecognized guilt.is it difficult for me to feel and express appreciation? I will try to develop a sense of gratitude .Do I expect others to behave according to my expectations? I will live and let live

my apologies for being late with this wonderful daily,due to insomnia,
i can so relate to this daily ,it spoke out to me ,touching me,
i am now aware of my behavior,I'm sure old past behaviors,the desease is powerful with tools of program makes all the diff.
i can accept it taking actions to change my behavior .
hope everyone is having a great ,fun filled weekend,i do plan on it,for me and my dear brother heading out bicycle riding together.........hugs,,,((((((everyone))))))),,,lu

Good Morning Looking up Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this extremely important message. I am so sorry to read that you are suffering from insomnia, I know how difficult that can be.
Back to the reading and looking deep within to discover why we are discontent. I know when i first entered program, I was so busy looking without- blaming , judging and critiquing others that I found that I was unhappy and discontent and thought it was everyone else's fault.
Not so said alanon and this page. Focus on yourself, examine your motives and discover that deep within, you will find acceptance, serenity and a little wisdom. i worked the Steps and 'wonder of wonders", i uncovered my positive self and am so grateful for that.

Thank you so much for Today's Reminder and both of your ESH. I too came to alanon in total denial that any of my unhappiness could possibly be of my own creation. I blamed everyone and everything for my lot in life. Thankfully through the gentle program I realized that if I wasn't happy with myself I would never find happiness around me. I worked the steps and still do to change the things I can...me and my attitude. Today I am happy with the me I uncovered.

Thank you LU for your service and the daily. Thanks to all for the ESH and shares above me. I am a tired, yet happy and serene gal today - lake trip with gal pals from High School. It is so, so refreshing to be able to just be me, warts and all and accept me, them and all as perfectly imperfect. We had a bit of drama over politics yet in spite of opposing views, value each other at a level that is very hard to put into words. I'm very grateful that I have learned to just be me in recovery and I find the most joy when I am doing the least amount of 'effort'. Going with the flow has become a more natural form of being and I truly am grateful to finally find my joy inside vs. externally.
Enjoy your bike ride LU - it's a bit chilly here and I drove home in some fog/misty weather. Resting and preparing for FOOTBALL in a bit! (((Hugs))) to all and happy belated Saturday!
