Hi all, I am now living with my stbex AH while we go through mediation. We are getting on pretty well now that we are not trying to maintain a marriage that just wasnt going to work . In fact he makes a better friend than husband. Thats all well and good but I am still trying to emotionally detach. I want to stay friendly because of the kids and because I genuinely like him, or maybe love him, and we have spent 20 years together. But its very hard to really let go when hes still around all the time. I know I probably need to go back to step one, but I was also hoping to get some ESH from others who have chosen to let a spouse go. How did you move on?

I admire you and your ability to move through this situation you are very lucky. I was not able to come to that kind of resolution for myself and our kids. Sick or well i honestly don't like my ex. It is what it is. Someday i hope to reach a point where civility is key in our interactions. One thing I do want to point out is detachment is huge. Keep it simple. As well as not taking things personally. It's so important on so many levels especially dealing with emotional responses. Meetings were a huge part of my divorce process. Keep on keeping on .. sounds like you are doing great!! Hugs s:)
