Aloha all and welcome to the Saturday Night Hilo Hawaii peace of mind and serenity AFG. It's been a great meeting since 10 AM this morning when and where I went down to the elementary school to fulfill and invitation to attend "Grand Parents" day at my grandson's school. I don't know about you all and nothing can take my mind, spirit and emotions away deep into recovery like little and young children can. I love to sit and watch the body languages and expressions of love and while not all of these beauties are delightful at the same time more than not they create a happiness very few other things can for me. My great and great grand kids all come from our disease and you would not know it to listen and watch them sing their songs to the grand parents in attendance or help us serve our lunches and such. WHAT A BLESSING I KNOW MY HP WAS ENJOYING THE EVENT. I get to play at these events and laugh like I have never been sickened from alcoholism. YAYYYY!!! Some people may think I am overly responsive however if they knew my story from inside the disease they would also come to understand. I get a constant reminder that this too will pass which helps me live in the now and feel the gratitude. Would have loved to have my MIP family there to enjoy it with me and then...(((((hugs))))

Oh Jerry - it just sounds so perfectly lovely!! I know my heart fills up and overflows with my little people!! The oldest grandchild started pre-school this week so his parents have been freaked out a bit about how he would do. He ran into the room and just screamed good-bye to them. Needless to say, they weren't expecting that.
What's been interesting is watching the baby brother who's never been away from the first born. He's had a really, really rough week. I picked them up from daycare today, and that little guy who's usually full of energy, wildness and sheer willful thoughts ran to me and hugged me and would not let me put him down....he just tucked his head under my chin and we stood for a while and cuddled.
He's cried more this week than ever and I know he just needs a bit more reassurance that we're not leaving him behind!! We had special snacks in the car and sang all the way home. There is just something super special about little people - they just don't yet have that 'slant' of negativity that happens in life....
So glad you came and share with us - what a great way to start a day!!! (((Hugs)))

Jerry-My granddaughter is turning 7 next month and for these 7 years , mostly painful A years, she has been a blessing to spend time with every week. When I am with I her the world with hurricanes, war, craziness from everywhere, ceases to exist. I am in a time warp where pain is temporarily absent. I feel serenity and joy every time. She has been in my life prior to Alanon, but she is definately a part of my recovery. I am seeing her today and very grateful. Thanks for your share, Lyne

Thank you (((jerry))) for sharing your wonderful day! What a great lesson from children to let go with unrestrained exuberance and stay in the present moment. I'm thankful to you for chosing to shareit here . It reminds me that every day I can make a choice to led by higher power or my past. I'm inspired by your humility and gratitude. TT

My VA alcoholism therapist once asked me if I remembered how to tantrum so that I could and would tantrum without hurting others like I was use to doing when the disease was running full on. I told him yes and he asked me to show him and so I did that wild crazy loud dance and when I was done he said "good...that is how you should do it the next time you feel hurt by the alcoholic/addict,...do not physically hit or harm her". Yesterday I remembered and was shown again how to dance and sing and clap my hands and play with my spirit and theirs together. I am not so proud that I cannot act the child of God that I am. Glad you also like it. ((((hugs))))

Oh Jerry - my little people were here last night, and the little one (will be 2 in Oct.) always hops up and down in the middle of the living room....esp. when I start singing this one song - and yes....I hop too. Last night was the first time my son (dad) and my AH witnessed it and looked at me like I was a loon.....I laughed so hard as it was just unfiltered, pure fun/joy! Little people are the best!!! They remind me how to have genuine fun!
