Some may remember and some may not but I have a cousin who lost her 18 YO son in a horrific car accident about 1.5 years ago. As I can only guess, and not imagine, she's not been the same since and has some severe depression, PTSD, grieving issues.
I've been reaching out to her ever since inviting her to go to lunch, softball, movie, other - just trying to be of support and assist anyway that I can with her grief. Well - just last night, she agreed to go to softball with me and she's even planning to play!!!
I'm thrilled beyond joy that she is going to come out, meet some new people and try something new. I'm asking you all who pray to keep her in your prayers today - just for a small break, if possible from her loss and her grief.

Thanks dear MIP family! We had a good time and we split - meaning we won one and lost one! It was so humid and hot from the storms the day before - was glad we got through it with no injuries and a positive outcome!

Thanks MIP family.....I had 4 sleepover guests last night - my 2 boys and my 2 grandboys! The storm Saturday night took out power for many - one included my 2nd son. It was so strange to come home from the softball outing and have 5 males in my house - all raiding the refrigerator.....doing what they do.
I had a chance to observe after I showered, and I must admit in spite of this darn disease and the condition of each in our family, we had a truly calm evening with only a few insane moments and I genuinely felt blessed vs. stressed. That's not happened in years and years and years - it seems.
I did not realize that the drive from my cousin's home to the fields would take us past the accident place. There is still a large memorial - balloons, stuffed animals, flowers, etc. This accident took 2 young lives - one just graduated (our boy) and another who was a senior. The driver, was also a senior, was charged for the accident and it really shook up the community. It was my first time by it and she avoids going by it.
We did talk about the accident, the grief, the sadness, her son and a bit more on the way to the field. We then played, laughed, sweated and more. On the way home, we talked about the games, the at bats, the defense, etc. So - perhaps just for a short moment in time, she was having some fun and doing something different.
Life is strange - I can not imagine her pain, her heart, her processing at all but I can do what we are asked to do - be of service! I truly appreciate each of you praying for us - the outcome was truly a blessing for me and hopefully for her too! Make it a great Monday!
