This may end up being a long post.......needing to get a few things off my chest. Mostly because I am learning....less about my A (the 3Cs) so the focus is more on me. I started off this past weekend doing a special day for my youngest two and visiting with my oldest who I don't get to see that often (or I should say as often as a mother would like) We had a great time. The kids really enjoyed themselves. I learnt to just do it. Take the time to do something with/for them not only will they enjoy it so will I. I didn't miss having my A with us he had an event to attend so instead of just sitting around doing nothing we did something for ourselves.
Then I decided to take on a pretty intense home reno. My oldest decided to help. The help was the greatest gift given to me the past few days. We worked so well together. The A was at work for most of it so was out of our way. He came home once it was clear he had been drinking. I didn't engage in it. As much as it drove me crazy to know, I let it go. Not my issue.
On the last day of the reno, my oldest had to leave before the job was done. The other half called.....I was dropped like a hot potatoe. Yes I was completely annoyed. Left to finish, left to clean up.....left! My oldest could tell something was bothering me. Normally I would have went off like a canon! I just simply said, it's my issue to deal with. It really was. I couldn't be mad because they were needed elsewhere. Life happens. It was my issue that I had the expectation that they would be here till the end to see it finished. So I couldn't be resentful.
I can finish this on my own just fine. It might take me a little longer now. So be it. But we did a fabulous job ourselves. No help from the A this was all us. We did this. Something to be greatly proud of. So even when my own ugly issues pop up, because I have learnt some important tools I can face more things on my own.
