Can anyone tell me what a "participation" meeting is?

I was looking into some F2F meetings in my area, and one looks promising. It is listed as a "candlelight, participation, handicap-access" meeting.
Now I understand the definition of each word, but I was wondering if anyone else has been to a participation meeting. I don't want to go if you are "required" to participate. I use quotes b/c during my last time in Al-Anon, I didn't come across any meeting that pressured you into sharing. People just shared when they felt comfortable. I had one meeting where I began to share quite a bit, and another that I never shared at. Needless to say, I didn't end up going to that one very often.
Thanks in advance!

I've never heard that term for a meeting PnP - I wonder if it means discussion vs. speaker? Just a thought - certainly interesting....

I have never heard of that as well. I would call the Inter group number and ask.

I'm guessing I would say the name says it all .. There are meetings that are book studies and meetings that are discussion. Participation meeting just sounds like what it is .. By all means if you find out post an update!!!

In thinking about this I believe that it might be like this format. We have meetings where members are not required to raise their hands to share. Instead members start "participatating" in sharing when the first person to share begins and and then sharing continues around the room, clockwise so everyone can share. If you do not want to share when you comes your turn you can pass, We call this a "Round Robin" meeting.
Let us know what you find out.

Thank you, All! I will let you know if I get up enough courage to go to the meeting!
