Still wanting,trying to decide on moving from my home here which I'm renting, great landlord,all my maintenance is done when I need it .lived here 14 yrs,finished raising my son here now he married him n his wife moved to another town an 45 min. Drive from me.
ive put a lot of work into this house over the years of which I'll never get back,
but it's been my home so have to make it homey for me.
painting,new floors,new faucets,ceiling fans etc.
just me and my fur baby now here alone.
i keep the yard mowed in summers,usually have to get help with that.
not that I'm lazy,it gets to hot,can't breath.very humid here,100% humidity,ugh.
oh and lots of outside work I've done to my home,lights etc.
i also live here in town, feel isolated.its a quiet street.thats good to.
neighbors stay to themselves.
ok,now to get to the point of my story here.
im thinking of moving to apartment duplex ,been looking somewhat.
heating bills are high living in my house.
utilities being lots cheaper living in apartments ,I'm told,I'm sure they are cheaper,more insulated,no water bills,yard work done.and another plus is there's lots of very nice ppl that seem to care for one another.
or being nosy ,I know that's always in apartment living in smaller towns.
ive talked to my grown married kids concerning thses decisions,options,,,GO MAMA.Go.lol
so here I'm still sitting with it all.still wondering.etc.
talked to my hp concerning it all,over n over.
still my choices,
change is good,be new opurtunities for me.
new freinds,more alanon ftf meetings,
ive got ,done collected tons of things over 14 yrs,you can imagine.
ive downsized all I can so far.still working at it.im bout decided that I just love clutter,lol
anyways just wondered if ant body can relate ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hugs....lu

((LU)) glad tht yo are taking the time to process your choices and review all your options. i have been an apartment dweller for many years and do not like private home living, so i think i may be little jaded when it comes to the topic. Looks as if your are making a good start.
I would write out a pro an con list, as that always helps me. Positive thoughts and prayers on the way

I keep thinking,stays stuck in my head.
About how I'd be so close to lots of fun things to do,,,i.e. The mall,books a million,since I've gotten into reading.
The most one I think about also is all the ftf alanon meetings I'd have advantage of going to.none here in my town,lonesome town
Be close to my son.
I will admit,that I Hate moving,been trying to justify reasons as to not to move,just can't justify it,lol
Feel like my business,my job,my soul purpose of stayingl living here I'd done ,been done.kids out.now it's my turn to make the move,Ikes,I've always told myself years raising my son alone as single parent that soon as I get him raised and moved on with his journey,then I can go on with my journey as in move,make a move.
Little did I know that it was gonna be this difficult ,
Guess I've dug my roots way to deep here.time to dig up roots,with new beginnings.new chapter,start all over.ha.

Hey LU - I have done both - more time in a private house than apartment setting. However, each has their pros/cons. I am one who can make a home anywhere I go, and can honestly say that either would meet my needs. I've often thought I would end up in my rental home - ranch style, one floor, etc. Yet I do stress about the upkeep, mowing, snow shoveling, etc. So - I'm back to uncertain about best next steps as well. I do know that with the program, I am no longer choosing between bad and worse, today it's usually good and better!
You got this - the answer will come when it's supposed to. I am a pro/con gal all the way - lists often help me think/process better...

This is certainly a big decision and one not easily made. Either way you decide, there will be pain. The pain of moving (literally...lol) and tthe sadness of leaving the familiar. On the other hand, however, there is an excitement about starting over in a new home that you get to choose. Imagine having all of the things you have always wanted in a home at your fingertips.
I understand the heat and humidity! Ugh!! I can't do the outside work, so I have to wait on help. It can be a pain. I also love space, but I think if I were alone my home would feel very large and just be so much more work to keep up than a smaller place. I know I can clean the "apartment...Mother-in-law suite" here in no time and it will be spotless. My house is too big to ever be or stay completely clean, no matter how hard I try. (I have three pomeranians and a yorkie...plus a teen daughter and RAH). Dog hair is aa CHALLENGE! Lol
They say the hardest part is making up your mind. I suggest looking at potential "homes" in the town you are interested in and going from there. It never hurts to look and you will at least know if there is a place that feels like it is right for you. The decision will come because you will find that magical place or you will decide your magic is where you live now.
