Hello this is my very first time being on this al-anon group chatting website. I have a really bad alcoholic father who overly drinks on the weekends. I'm his only daughter who is going to be 28 in May. I don't know where to begin.... My dad is a hard working man he treats me alright Monday-Thursday but Friday-Sunday is a different story. Friday through Sunday he goes to the bar at 6am until about 12pm or so and when he comes home he is a wasted, hammered, & drunk who takes all his anger out on me when I don't do anything wrong. If he were to make a mistake he will blame me not himself and its sad that when he wakes up at 4am on Monday to go to work he doesn't remember anything that happened on the weekend. I Usually go out on Saturday just to get away from my dad and its hard enough when I'm on with my friends they hear everything that goes on here at my apartment. So I really don't need to explain anything at all to my friends. He verbally abuses me & mentally put me under so much stress that sometimes I get panic attacks. When I try to talk to him when he is SOBER he doesn't want to hear it. He hates hearing the truth & he chooses not to get any sort of help (So he says.....). He calls me names like retarded or stupid & thinks that he is perfect. (He's NOT perfect!) I wanted to try expressing my feelings to a therapist but I know for a fact I'll start getting really emotional because it is really hard to find somebody to talk to about this. I do apologize if read this and you get emotional. I don't have a job or a car and I don't drive because of my disability (I had a stroke at the age of 2 and am disabled all these years later. Not I cope with my disability because its all I've ever known) I can't move out if I wanted too I'd love to go see my mom for a couple months but she lives in CA. I actually have a campaign on to raise money so that I can go see her I haven't seen my mom in 7 years & I feel if I were to be in CA for a while the stress would disappear & I would be happy again.Thank you for listening and reading my story.

I encourage you to seek out local Al-Anon meetings and check them out. There you will find others who understand and can offer you hope and help for your own recovery from the affects of alcoholism.
