Got my ct scan results back today. Bulging disc with nerve compression, plus degenerating facet joints and slight scoliosis. I am grateful to know its not all in my head which is a quite ridiculous fear considering that hello! You couldn't move. Lol. So there's an unexpected gratitude for a tangible explanation.
I looked up metaphysical meanings of slipped discs and found lack of support as one explanation
I think this fits me. Feeling unsupported in my case has definitely affected the way i hold my body and the way i treat it. Tense and careless towards self. I am treating this as a strong reminder of how my thoughts and feelings manifest when i don't do the work to address them. Of course there are physical reasons too and there are somethings which are entirely out of our hands. But this one is serving me a lesson I'm ready to apply.
Thank you all very much for the care given, I really needed it when i got home. No more furniture moving, or heavy lifting or " she'll be right" when clearly "she" isn't, or stressing out about stuff that doesn't matter.
Health is surely its own blessing!

((A41)) I could have told you that you were not NUTS. I am glad that you received the results and have made a positive decision to take care of yourself in a a more considerate manner.I have forced my body to do many things, to my determent and learned similar lessons.
The quote from the ODAT reading for today speaks directly on this topic:""let me not expect easy solutions to my problems. I realize that many of my difficulties were created by me, by my own reaction to the happenings in my life's. I ask only to be guided to a better way.

I can also suggest I never thought you were nutz!!! ha.ha.ha.ha.....I am one who thinks those of us who live with this disease and have children or have raised children are WARRIORS!! If we get to the point where we are speaking out about pain, we're probably at least an 8-9 on a scale of 0-10.
I too am glad you have facts.....I am one who finds the wait for medical results to be management but uncomfortable. It's like a state of limbo and I am always relieved when I have the results - even if they are not the ones I hoped for.
Good on you for checking out what you can do for your own self-care. I believe you also said you wanted to strengthen your core and have heard this is a great starting point for back issues/concerns. Be gentle with you and know that I'm sending you positive thoughts and tons of prayers!
