I grew up with alcoholics and married one. I am at a breaking point and have no one to turn to.

Welcome You have found a support system that understands as few other are able. Alanon is a recovery program for family members.(like your self) who have lived with or do live with the disease of alcoholism.
Alcoholism is indeed a chronic, progressive, fatal disease over which we are powerless. Living with the disease causes many to develop negative coping tools in order to survive.
Alanon holds face to face meetings in most communities and the hot line number is in the white pages. Attending face to face metings helps to brek the isolation caused by living with this disease, I also developed new constructive tools to live by as my self esteem and self respect was restored.
Please keep coming back here as well there is hope and help

Rwisdom - I too send you welcomes.....glad that you found MIP and glad that you joined us. This disease is progressive and extremely damaging to the drinker as well as those who love them or live with them. I am sorry you've been affected - you are not alone.
I too encourage you to seek out local F2F (face to face) meetings in Al-Anon. I found others who truly understood and shared their ESH (experience, strength & hope) with me so I could find hope and help. I believe working this program has saved me, my sanity and brought me back to a place of peace and joy.
Please keep coming back here too - you are not alone and there is hope and help in recovery!
