Heard some bad news about former alcoholic acquaintances. Three people dead, one a bystander, one an alcoholic the other one of us. Alcoholism distorts normality to a point where crazy becomes do able and there's a point of no return. Amongst the sorrow is gratitude for the saving grace of my angels and HP.

((A4!)) This is indeed a powerful disease. It not only kills the alcoholic but also alanonics and innocent bystanders as well. That is why continuing the recovery process by attending alanon meetings is so important.

Thanks Betty. They were not close to me, we drank together years ago. It's sad on a human level than a personal one for me; just thinking of the thoughtless situations alcoholism can get one into, and the reality of fragile mortality. Take good care everyone.

I am sending prayers for all - it's never easy to loose someone and it gets complicated in my mind when I think it might have been avoidable. These are the times when I have to lean into faith and know that there is a bigger plan that I am not aware of.
