We got communication from my family that my younger brother was in serious condition in the hospital up there transfused with 9 liters of blood and surgery to clip off and artery that was failing to cancer and that the cancer is pancreatic and also in his liver. They brought him around and the family gathered around his hospital bed like a reunion and they are pretty and happy. The event has beaten him up and he smiled still ...yes he has had a life of alcoholism himself untreated. I am the only one that surrendered to the programs of Al-Anon and AA...still he is the last of this generation...the youngest at 71.
Look around for any spare prayers you have that don't have a name yet attached and if you care to tag them with Jerry F's younger brother and send them off if you will.
I am reminded that I am powerless of course so have sent my own prayers aloft for him and the family. They were confused that I stopped drinking and without an excuse from me just accepted I would no longer participate. I worked the powerless side of recovery and they worked acceptance.
So send your kindnesses and we will see what comes from MIP love. (((((hugs)))))

I am sending many prayers and hugs to you and your family. Pancreatic cancer is awful. One of the worst cancer's a person can have. I have a beloved Aunt right now that is going through the pain of pancreatic cancer. She always took good care of herself and cancer does not run in my family so it was a shock when we got her diagnosis. I hope your brother will be able to somehow be granted peace and comfort during this agonizing time. Hugs to you Jerry.

Hi Jerry - knowing what we need before we ask, your HP snuck in BEFORE you asked for prayers and already granted them - "They brought him around and the family gathered around his hospital bed like a reunion and they are pretty and happy. The event has beaten him up and he smiled still " - my HP is sad when things like cancer and alcoholism and birth defects become a part of our world, but given the laws of nature and the "gift" of free will, I don't think my HP is gonna step in and go against the laws of nature, or make us do something that our free will drives us towards - BUT, knowing our fears and sadness, He sends other people to comfort us in our grief - like your family gathering around your Brother's hospital bed, and your Brother being given the strength to smile in spite of his troubles - He's there already Jerry - He'll stay the course.

TY Loved your response. It is a great reminder that HP is always present, however I simply neglect to acknowledge Him from time to time.

(((Jerry))) - as I walked with God this morning (and my fur-baby), I was reminded of God's grace in our lives. I sent up extra special prayers for all of you as well as a dear friend of mine who is battling cancer currently. I readily admit I am often saddened by the realities of our world until I truly open my mind, heart and eyes and 'see' the miracles all around me.
Positive thoughts continue...

I think Texas said it perfectly! HP knows our needs and answers our prayers even as they remain unspoken. I am thankful to God that at least one of your family (you) broke the cycle of alcoholism. The generations to come, by blood or simply by love, will always have the blessings of the one who broke the chain of bondage from this horrible disease.
When I visit the board, I always seek out your post because they are filled with wisdom, love, kindness, and honesty. Your recovery and the life you lead is the real testament of God's love and understanding.
I pray for the family and friends of this lost man and for God to lift his burdens as he brings him home to rest. There is no pain in Heaven.
Peace to you and yours my friend.

And my thoughts go to John who founded the Miracles in Progress room. He is also in need of prayers because of what he is suffering with now. It seems there is more than enough to go around from this family of his/our and I ask my HP to allow me to take up some of his time with requests for those who are ailing where ever and I know because of the miraculous healing he has afforded me at the times he has chosen that He will not abandon the needs of others. So this is my time to keep asking without feeling that I am bothering my HP; Him/Her/it as it is revealed to me, to extend to them as was extended to me and my alcoholic/addict and so many others. Mahalo Akua...Thank you God. (((((hugs)))))
