I just want to introduce myself, I have been reading the boards for months but just joined last night. My AH has been actively addicted to opiates/alcohol since he was in his teens. We have been married for 22 years and I have spent that time trying to fix him. I have hit my bottom, and when I found al-anon/nar-anon.....there are no words to describe the release I felt! I have cried, was shocked over the similarities, gained hope, found direction, began a journey, and came out of my isolation because of your posts! I cannot thank you enough for the strength, experience, and hope that you share! I'm guessing you don't realize how many people you have brought healing to with your words.....but once again, THANK YOU!

Great, great share detached - so happy that you are on the road of recovery with us. Your post shares exactly what recovery is all about - we are lost, we find hope and we recover by working the program. This share certainly brightened my morning!
Keep coming back - glad you are with us on this journey!
