Hey all, Well hard to believe a year has gone by and I am still alive and well..lol..... To all of my beautiful friends even consider you all family here a great big THANK YOU!!! I honestly believe to this day if I had not found you I would not be alive today...A year ago I was ready to just lay down, call it quits and just die..or hope to die. Today I am so glad to be alive. I breath easier now that I have the tools to help me. It is by far perfect but it has surely progressed. I now own my own business, I have renovated my garage into a groom shop. I call the shop Getting Your Groom On. And I love it so much. I can also use the room as a little get away on off hours...my "war room" or "Prayer room".....my "Serenity Room" ......
A lot has happened in the last few weeks that I am dealing with. I have invited someone else who has hurt me in the past to use the shop 3 days a week since she lost her job. I put boundaries down and so far she has failed all of them...and again today I went over them again with her. I go soft now and then and have a hard time sticking to my boundaries, even with my AH....I cannot throw her on the street with no job, as I know what it is like to have no job. I need a lot of prayer to be strong enough to do what I have to do if I need to. And I know this too shall pass once i get this boundary thing down pat. I just say to myself ...Debra Debra Debra...I am getting better at things not bothering me ...I do know im better though because in the past I would not have gone over the boundaries with her again...i would have said nothing....so again progress not perfection....
On a better note, I am much happier than I was a year ago living with an active A has gotten a lot easier for me, as long as I remember the 3 C's my favorite....

I know someone else who did that and it messed up Her
up because she Had rented it out one night to someone
else then she was Having to work on Sundays.
I Had a small gift shop i loved it, it was just seasonal in
My small town. I ran it for 8 summer. I did use the word
NO especially with consignment items that i did not want.
I toughened up and it was not always appreciated.

(((Hugs))) Debra! I'm so happy for you. Reading your post brought me tears, Al-anon always makes me cry whether happy or sad (Kleenex pls, LOL). You know what looking back I too am much better now than when I first came to Al-anon. Thanks so much to all of you, my friends, here in MIP. Let's keep coming back, love you too!
