Really. My Higher Power loves to bless me...thinks up the times and places and methods and just knows I have lots of gratitude to show for it and then pass it on to others.
I was early for the morning meeting and I think it is because I am getting older as the reason and not the I am being manipulated by my HP. As it is right now I know it was the manipulation. My wife will not return from vacation for another 11 days and I just not so exciting a man to manufacture or just accept happiness so...being early I decide to head off to the local MickeyDees for a breakfast sammich and cuppa coffee and the blah news paper....please don't try that last part from my experiences cause it is a depression invitation. nuf ...just before I unwrapped my sammich a local Hawaiian brother (I don't know him though he is/was an instrument of my HP's love) broke into a pule A`i, Food blessing, blessing the inside of the restaurant and the diners and the food with the widest happiest smile on his face before sitting down to his own meal. I have never ever experienced such a spontaneous chant in our culture and while I also chant time to time I was surprised and impressed.

I started to eat and my attention was distracted by a little girl child sitting just in front of me who must have already received a doctorate in happiness and smiling and she devoted much of it at me and so I decided to participate with her returning the favor...great breakfast...seasoned with HP's care and concern. Then she and her family left the store. I noticed that the only time she frowned was when her female care taker was exercising power and control over nothing of concern and I thought of our recovery...sad for just a little bit and the child would recover and go back to smiling again. Mahalo Akua.
They left and were replace by another bitty beauty and her pleasant peaceful care taker and in between bites I watched and got more gratitude. If I was still practicing the disease I would have missed the pre-meeting beauty and gratefully didn't. My wife had been on my mind and the had went away because she was replaced by my HP's suggestions.
I was practicing what I had been taught over the years I have been here such as I have choices about what I can focus on and the consequences which come from it. I choose peace of mind and serenity and happiness and gratitude.

(((Jerry))) - love the share! I appreciate a great share, especially when it's about the miracles we get to experience by being present. May you have many more and safe travels home for your wife...
My 2 little ones came over last night, and I was full of gratitude as the baby watched in admiration while the first born threw a tantrum. They are both becoming who they were meant to be and it's a blessing to witness any/every part of it.

So, so true - I have to admit I get a kick out of watching my 'baby' try to control his 'babies' as well......he's so looking forward to starting back to college on Monday as he's been Mister Mom all summer with the baby and the 2 year old. He's very, very good with them but he needs a break and it's obvious!
For me, a child's smile and smiling eyes is a gift from above - it will bring me out of neutral or sadness into joy in a heartbeat.
(((Hugs))) - I do laugh - your miracle was at a McD - who would have thought that to be?

Lovely Share Jerry. I too have found being in the moment and reflecting on all about me. I can find joy and happiness in small charming events that I often did not notice in the past. Thanks to alanon I am now aware!!

It's fun Hotrod...my HP's idea of having fun and who am I to grumble and disagree. I've been separated from my wife for a month and HP knows how to lighten my load. (((hugs)))
