I only heard it from the online meeting and told me to post in the message board if there's anyone willing to sponsor me online. Yeah I think via skype or viber or messenger so it's like talking to each other on the phone or video call. I think it's going to be a lot easier to express myself talking than writing especially on very specific and detailed matters.
So if there's anyone who would like to take me in for sponsorship i'll be really grateful, please let me know.

Lone Member Service: Most lone members now use the electronic on-line meetings. People who are unable to attend face-to-face meetings may also be interested in Al-Anons electronic meetings which can help newcomers and members who cannot travel to the nearest Al-Anon meeting due to distance (25 miles or more from a meeting), physical impairment, illness or other reasons. I cannot offer sponsorship because I too am in the process of beginning to get a sponsor. Thank goodness the right person came along and agreed to help me. I will start working with her this week.

I do not wish to sound negative in any way about your request, but I know most of the posters here are just beginning their programs and are less likely to be able to sponsor. I also believe using the info from gabigail may be most helpful. They will have more resources, as MIP is very much supportive of AlAnon, however, it is not an "official" AlAnon site. This in no way detracts from the people here or the purpose, but it does limit in some ways. I love MIP and have been using this board as my lifeline for over a year. Without MIP I would have been completely lost!

I pray you find what/who you are looking for. I can understand how difficult things must be for you and I can also imagine you must have cultural differences which may lead you to feel differently than those in other areas at times. It is often very hard, if not impossible for me to really understand another place/culture until I have been there and seen things with my own eyes. I know it was like that for me when we last vacationed and I met so many people from so many different countries....each with their own cultural differences and different beliefs (and laws even). There are also great speaker videos on YouTube which may help as a resource and a free iPhone or iPad app (and perhaps Google) of the AA Big Book, which I highly recommend reading at your leisure. This book is for alcoholics normally, but I found the information very, very helpful in my understanding of alcoholism. There are also many other sources for AA or AlAnon speaker tapes/CDs/DVDs from conferences available for very little on the Internet. I don't know your culture enough to recommend specifics, but I know I ordered a ton of these for my RAH and burned them to his iPhone or MP3 player to listen to when he traveles. He asked and I would have had him do the ordering, but he was not yet ready to do this. Now he orders all the chips and his own AA supplies as part of his "service" to his AA group as a recommendation of his sponsor. I am guessing the sponsor saw a need for him to do some work in this area and made it part of his program. Whatever the reason, I am proud that he no longer asks me to do what he can do for himself. Before, he would not even do his own reports for work and I would end up tying them all. Now that NEVER happens. The most I do is to create a "Master" document for him from the one his boss sends so that the fonts and all of the spacing are standard. He has yet to perfect this for himself, but is working on it! What a difference AA and AlAnon make!

I know I enjoy reading what you post, even though I do not fully grasp your culture (because I live in a Southern State in the USA) and have honestly traveled little until this year. Oh how little I really know and understand about the world.

thanks Doingmybest. What you wrote was very touching. I truly believe God is answering my prayer in the way that is best. I may not fully understand but I know God is holding me so preciously. I have to be really tough with my husband, my heart breaks as I refuse to help him with the injury he lately suffered. He was really drunk when it happened and he's still blaming me for it. He lost his front teeth and he wants me to bring and accompany him to the dentist and some body aches that he wants me to bring him to a doctor. I know this ploy, because as he would explain what happened he will again bring up the issue of my thinking that he's an alcoholic when he's not, or perhaps he wants me to shoulder all his medical expenses because "I caused his drinking too much that night". I can see that he's still capable to bring himself for medical attention. I told him that I can drive for him, if he's unable to drive. But when he realized that what I meant was just to drive him over and pick him up after, he refused even that. I can feel there's some hidden agenda. I am feeling somewhat guilty but I have to stand firm. I keep praying to God that what I am doing is according to His Will. It's an irony that when I have to do something this tough i feel very weak.
