I'm forgetful and can't remember if I posted something similar or not.
I'm new to the board. I've been in Al-Anon for about 28 years. I'm a double winner as I am also in AA for 30 years (sobriety date 10/25/85). My husband got sober about 8 years after I did, and he had 20 years of sobriety when he passed away 3 years ago from liver disease.
Right now my qualifiers are my sister, my niece and nephew. And probably a lot of my friends in AA.
I'm also at that time in life when I realize that recovery is a lifetime journey. I'm always learning something new.
One of my favorite prayers is the Set Aside prayer, which I had never heard before a month or so ago. But I value that prayer.
HP, help me set aside everything I think I know about you
everything I think I know about myself
everything I think I know about others.
everything I think I know about recovery
everything I think I know about Al-anon
