Today's reading is about the power of prayer. We can communicate with our HP at anytime, and prayer may take many different forms. Some of us may have formal prayers that we learned and use those to communicate. Others may just have more of a conversation with our HP, some of us may do a combination of both.
The quote from _As we Understood_: 'In Al-Anon, I learned that God meets me where I am.' This has been a powerful reminder for me that I can feel I am at my worst or at my best and in a sense that's all the same to my HP. I remember hearing that prayer is like the talking w do with our HP and meditating is the listening.
Even though prayer has always been a part of my life; I ha felt more profoundly connected since coming to Alanon.

Hello Mary Thanks for this powerful reminder. When I first enteed progrma I had a dificult time finding time to prya but I did see the advantage and made the time each day to do so. Slowly but surely prayer becamea valuable asset that I called on continually-- instead of obsessing as I walked to work or ride the bus I now talk to HP and how Blessed I feel, i now see/feel the beauty in nature and the entire world.

Thank you Mary for your service, today's daily and your ESH. I was taught prayers as a young person, however I never really was taught to pray. I now view those as different steps or tools in my life and have grown spiritually since being in recovery.
I have always heard the same - praying is me talking, meditating is me listening. I still struggle to still myself for meditation but it's all about progress, not perfection.
Happy Tuesday lovely ladies - thank you too Betty for your share - I love my alone time with my HP and Layla during our morning walks....it's such a nice way to start the day!
