The C2C reading for July 31 speaks about tackling a job a little bit at a time. It points out that housekeeping sometimes is overwhelming, but if we do one small task and get something accomplished we feel that it is possible to keep moving forward. That is what one day at a time is all about.
If we take one day, one moment, one task at a time and concentrate on it a lot more gets done.
The quote is from This is Al-Anon; "Remembering that we can only live one day at a time removes the burdens of the past, keeps our attention on the present and keeps us from fear in the future.
Great reminder to stay in the moment and in the day

This is a great share, Hotrod, and one that helps keep perspective. How much do we dwell and wallow in the past- all the mistakes we've made, if only I did this, etc. I know I do this too often. Then the future, if my current moment is horrible, I believe I don't have any hope for the future. The slogan One Day At A Time is so important to keep in mind when we get so overwhelmed in our circumstances and recovery. Thank you for sharing this!

I too love today's reading. One moment at a time, I do feel centered and as if I can accomplish just about anything! The minute I start planning beyond what's in front of me, I can feel a bit of anxiety creeping in. I can recall being very structured in my housework and chores before children. Well - when they came along, it sent me for a spin! Changing a bunch of diapers and playing games on the floor, or rocking them, etc. - all enjoyable tasks clearly created a curvy road where it had been pretty straight and narrow. Chunking projects in smaller pieces helps me find success along the way, giving me the desire to move forward - even the tasks that are not so fun!
(((Hugs))) - make it a great Sunday!!
