Can we TURN OVER our Depression and Anxiety to HP? I would like to try it...

Hi Everyone, I was in al anon for 10 years from 30 - 40 and then moved to a small city in Canada and there not many meetings and they cross talk and gossip so I have been white knuckling my recovery for 13 years!! (I had a child at age 40)
I have been in a bit of a dark night of the soul after a separation and my elder alcoholic father started acting out again. I want to be PRESENT and SERENE for my wonderful child and asking Higher Power for Direction. I need to start doing 11th step and really WORKING THE STEPS to get back to a place of peace. Can anyone recommend a PHONE STEP meeting that is good and focused on the spiritual principles. I know that the universe does take care of us but Al anon is so clear and so amazing.
I am asking HP to LIFT my depression/anxiety and let me live in TODAY and not miss out on the beauty of today. My 13 year old son wants to go on a bike ride with me and have lunch and I feel GRATEFUL!!
Any thoughts? Meetings xx Charlotte

I believe in the power of my HP to lift me and lead me in all avenues of my life - so I say, Why Not? Roll with your prayers and your son and make it the best day possible!!

I hope your day is unfurling beautifully. I do not have easy access to meetings either so for me writing gratitude and asset lists has been really important - as is yoga, which is easier to access here in Italy, and maybe in your part of the world as well.
Do you know about the step workbook here on this site? And there are on-line meetings twice a day as well. I haven't come across Phone Step meetings so will be interested to learn more about them. Thank you for enlightening me with your knowledge.
I hope you are invigorated and not too saddle sore from the bike ride! By the way, it sounds as if HP has already got your back if your son is asking you to go out and exercise with him - exercise has been hugely helpful in keeping my spirits raised one day at a time!

I believe it is my HP's will that I be depression and anxiety free amongst other negative emotions and thoughts. I pray with my HP for what my HP wills. Try doing that and then

I have found that HP can certainly lift depression and allow me to be in the moment andin the day My job was to stay in the day,- not project into the future nor dwell on the past and to pray the serenity prayer . Gratitude lists helped as well.
I do hope you enjoyed that bike ride as I have memories of many such times with my son and they warm my heart.
