yesterday was a rough day for me when a bunch of friends (online mostly) who i love adore admire and trust, handed my my tush online for some thinking they don't agree with. I have agreed to disagree with them (this morning) but I still have feelings of letting them down.... but that's not what I want to share....
My share today is about my meeting last night.
It's in a large synagogue which is pretty rare anyway... and it's a VERY small group... next to an AA meeting. My AH went to the AA meeting (his second that day GO AH!)
and I went to the Alanon meeting....
I was a few minutes late, my sponsor showed up a few minutes later
and then about 15 minutes in a face we didn't know showed up.
she opened the door tentatively and we said: "Looking for Al-anon here we are come on in" She came in and sat down. she was silently weeping. All red faced and thin and pale... and could NOT stop crying.
She left the room. and I felt concern (I was doing my share) and then came back... she sat down and continued to cry quietly.
After everyone had shared we asked "do you need to share" and she said "I was looking for a different meeting when I opened this door but I decided to come in here instead. I know of Al-anon but I have not been to a meeting in a long long time and I think I need to be here." She continued her share and crying.
THE meeting AFTER the meeting ran nearly 30 minutes (poor AH was sitting in the car waiting patiently for me) we surrounded her and
a. made sure she had phone numbers (she is really new in town on top of everything)
b. made sure she and her children were SAFE... (there was some concern that they were NOT safe)
c. set up two women who lived close by to check on her today (and last night)
and with our holiday coming up next week made sure that she knew she was not alone.
If ever God's hand was guiding someone last night was the proof....

Think for many it's Came to believe .. after awhile in alanon meeting, etc .. too many coincigod moments for us to remain in disbelief .. then again always learned we 'learn by experience .. in alanon we get to experience God .. he is the Real one loving authority expressing through our groups conscious shares .. =) great story .. know for sure it wasn't my hand that led me through the doors .. seeds were planted a long time before I finally said yes .. best door I ever walked through ..

Great share and awaeness Lady. It reminded me of the time I returned to alanon. I had left program years before and had walked my son, age 19 to his first AA meeting. As I was walking out of the hospital, a person came up to the information desk and asked where was the alanon meeting. They were told and I followed them in and the rest is history.:) HP does work in mysterious ways.
