Does anyone know anymore about this? Im thinking about it. Does anyone bring their kids even if their kids arent attending AlAnon? Anyone know anything about the speakers/meetings? Do most ppl go Fri-Sun or most just attend the conference on Sat? Does anyone know the area? I know there's meals avail onsite but any restaurants nearby?

Barbara,
I really hope you consider going to the convention. They are such a great spiritual event in recovery. There are many resteraunts nearby, but I understand from those who attended last years event the meals at the hotel were excellent. The hotel is on the water at the Cape and is very peaceful. I have been there before although not for the convention. As for when people go - some go down for the day, one night or the entire weekend. Obviously it would depend upon your personal finances. When I attend conventions or conferences, I usually try to stay with someone who lives near the facility or share rooms with people to minimize the expenses.
I am not sure if I will attend this year as it is a long ride for me - but if I do I would love to meet you there.

Hi Barbara
I will be going for the weekend.
The theme is “Never Alone Again”
I will go on Friday - Sunday if I am not traveling for business. If I am traveling (likely) I will go for Saturday and Sunday.
I have attended the NJ and Yosemite conferences and both were wonderful.
I hope this link works, it's an overview of the hotel. Even if you don't stay there but go there for the conferences, the kids are welcome to come with you and use the facilities -- the heated pools, playroom, etc.
There is alateen participation too and from the last ones I attended, the kids seem to really enjoy it all. They even go to the Saturday night dance (teens). So all are welcome.
There is food onsite but plenty off site too -- from fancy restaurants to McDonalds, Friendly's etc. for families with kids.
Some of us are attending. If you plan to attend, let us know. We'd love to all get together.
