Good Evening. This is my first time posting here. Mom just admitted tonight that she has a drinking problem and needs help. She has been drinking heavily for over 10 years.  While I am VERY excited about this I am also very scared and confused. I want to be able to support her and help her the best I can but I don't know how.  I'm hoping I find some good information and tips here to help my family.

Also, you might want to look at the listing of meetings in your area. I find that sharing online and at face to face meetings helps me alot. I, too, am the daughter of an alcoholic. Hi I am so glad you found us. The best thing you can do to help your mom is to help you. Keep reading and posting, join us in chat and find some Alanon meetings close to you to attend. There is a link to a local meeting schedule on the chat room page or you can look up a phone number in your local are and call. You are certainly not alone and anything you are feeling or going through/ gone through or felt, someone else has also been through or felt.
