The server we are on is irc.webmaster.com, port 6667. You may also use a Webnet server that comes with mIRC and simply add #alanonachat to your channels folder to join us.

So bobump. Can you tell me how to get in, log on, etc. I don't understand what you are talking about in downloading mRIC. I have been in but I seem to have to keep logging in as a guest.

Nancy are you getting logged in as a guest w/ mIRC ?
If so, once logged on you can type
/nick yournickname
Also, I use a different irc client so I don't know the steps w/ mIRC but there are settings where you can choose how you log into a room.

Thanks, Bobump - now I have several back up solutions, gives me peace of mind, I'm bound to get in, one way or the other!
I amanaged to download mIRC last night and install it - then I got stuck, gave up in despair, tried Java, their last chance! and got in - no logic to server probs.
I have made a note the irc webmaster and the port 6667 - will try them out soon.
Lots of love,
Flora

For those that are having problems w/ the Java chat, there are a couple of options for you.
Another Java option:
http://mipchat.kows.org/
Or you try the mIRC client that is linked at the bottom of the chatroom page.
