I suppose it serves me right, was feeling rather pleased with self - had no probs with Java - till tonight! When I had tried several times, to no avail, I decided to download mIRC - and, eventually, that is where I am at - I have downloaded and installed, now, I have no idea what to do with it! When I try to come in, Java pops its head up again, dont want to uninstall Java, may be left with nothing. Any computer buffs out there able to offer advice? Thanks, Flora xxxx

I had to restart my computer to get in with java tonight. Did you try that?  Worked for me.
