hi everyone hope you had a wonderful christmas. amanda always goes to her dad on christmas eve & i am always shopping to stay busy wraping gifts she usally comes home late christmas eve, but i was letting her sleep over so she could be there when her brother opened his presents. but i wanted her to come with me for midnight mass. & i would bring her back after  that.  i told chuck that god has been really looking out for us and i wanted my whole family to go. chuck agreed amanda was saying i am tired. my mom always wanted to take us but we never went i really wish we had. it was spectacular the church was decorated so beautifully we sang christmas songs. i was  shocked at how many people came to midnight mass people were standing. amanda was falling asleep but i woke her . she said she loved it & could we go again next year  i said yes. christmas morning chuck made french toast. and then after we ate we opened our presents. my brother dressed up as santa claus and amanda was mrs. claus it was cute. but that was it he called us down so he could give amanda her presents &  he did his own thing & we did ours , its really SAD THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME  EVER THAT WE DID NOT HAVE CHRISTMAS TOGETHER. that was the only bad part of my day. we had a lovely day playing family games . watching the march of the wooden soildiers my favorite & of  course chucks favorite a christmas story i bought him the leg lamp lol it's not as big  as the one on tv and he has it on his night stand i don't mind he loves it .i can't tell you how blessed i feel. i have my family  back & my husband is back the man i fell in love with  is home

 the monster is gone & i hope he never comes back. we were invited to go to a new years bash & i told my friend i didnt think it was a good idea he is pushing the issue. finally  i said it's up  to chuck & he said no thanks i am going to be home with my family. i was so happy i hope we stay at the top of this roller coaster.

I'm so gald things are going well.  This was are first sober x-mass together in years.  It was so nice I can not tell you how happy I am.  I also hope it last forever I do worry about if he slips.   Then I think take the good well you can.  You had so many years of the drinking.  Enjoy the day. One day at a time.

so glad that you had a wonderful Christmas and that your A is doing well.  Have a wonderful New Years enjoying your family.  This year I am going to a friends which I feel a little strange about being the only "single" person out of my group of friends, but Idecided I am going to make the best of it and spend the day helping my girlfirend set up and stuff and this way i won't feel so awkward whenI show up alone...I'll already be there...lol....I'm glad that your on "top" right now....keep things in perspective, though.  When my A was doing well and he was sober, I thought everything was OK....I didn't need to do anything more...I stopped going to meetings, etc.....when the monster came back I was in no way prepared to deal with it.  Remember to keep the focus on your own recovery....its hard...but worth it in the end.

(((chrissy))) im so happy to hear that you had what sounds like the perfect christmas. glad things are going good for you. i hope you stay on top as well :)

My boyfriend can be very pleasant at times like tonight. He walked the dogs, asked if I needed anything was polite, kind inquirying. I know this is a place he is in when he has talked about some of his issues elsewhere. I do not ask that much of him anymore. I just focus on myself and my issues and how much work I need to do on them.  I know the issue is not solely him but a lot of it is me.  Without him I would still have a whole lot of issues.

(((((((((Chirssy))))))))))))), I'm so glad that you had a nice Christmas! May you have many more! It is nice when the demon is gone. I hope it stays away from both of our houses for a very long time. I'd love to see the pictures of Amanda as Ms. Claus. She must have been so cute. Keep taking it one day at a time. Sometimes when we drop our guard we can get bitten. I hope and pray we don't this time around. Be good to yourself. I like the idea of staying home on New Years. I've never been one for going out and battling the crowds anyways. This year I have to work the next morning, as I must be the only adult in my department who doesn't party and my A will be attending his local AA functions all weekend. He invited me to go with him on New Year's Eve to one. I might join him. But I can never stay up until midnight! Enjoy the rest of the holidays. Give Amanda a hug for me. Live strong, Karilynn

thanks guys you are the best don't worry i am taking care of me & amanda & i am saving money just in case  he slips i have my own account . but i am so happy & i love him. i just keep praying that he stays clean. amanda is so happy too.
