I guess I am going to have to start my day over as someone suggested to me in a f to f meeting the other night. I got off of work at 3 usually I work until 9:30. My husband knew all week yet he decided to go to the bar to say Merry Christmas. So I shopped for food alone, brought all the bags (14) up to the second floor, and now just finished putting things away. He promised me that we would go to dinner etc. I don't know why I get my hopes up. He expected me to pick him up because he won't be able to drive, so tommorow in between making 2 lasgnas and apps I will drive him to pick his car up. I have enough anxiety about seeing certain family members over the next two days. I think I will get out of here and go to a yoga class, I need to put myself together. Lil

Yesterday I went and did my shopping alone too, I carried in all in, and put it all away too. It seemed sad, I am sorry you had to do it too. I hope your new start to your day makes a big difference. And I give you LOADS of credit for going to yoga, what better way to relax and be kind to yourself? I have to admit I put in my pilates cd yesterday, watched it all the way through from my couch, only at the end did I realise I never moved. It's a start anyway ... I wish you Happy and Serene Holidays.

Hi, I hear you. I drove 2 hours over a mountain pass, unloaded, put everything away, got to bed at 11:00 pm. I did have my 2 boys to help. But I can't figure out why I am doing Christmas by myself. I applaud you for doing yoga. I did yoga with the tape this morning. They remind us in yoga as in Alanon to focus on yourself. At least my mind was free for a while.
Have a great holiday. We will get through these challenges and disappointments. Someone will notice what we did for them.

Well I have a real ongoing issue with my boyfriend that every Christmas/every holiday/every birthday every significant day that he has to go to his mother's. He once dragged me back from a holiday to see his mother.
I have spoken to him about this at length. I have come to see that the holidays for me don't mean anything to him and that makes me very sad but also resolute that spending my time in resentment is toxic to me. So next holiday Easter I am going to make my own plans and give up on being a couple at the holidays. Since we aren't a couple all the rest of the time either why make such a huge deal over it anyway.
