I know how hard this time of year can be for some of us. I am praying for a peaceful, serene Holiday for everybody, with, without our A's, whatever is best for each and every one of you. For me, that means him staying away from the bottle for the first time since I've known him at Christmas time. (so far, so good!!!) We will be having 14 people from our blended family here tomorrow. We are all looking forward to it, and for the 1st time, I have told him it will be a wonderful Christmas if he stays sober, PLEASE GOD!!!
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas!!! Love and lotsa TLC to you all!!

Thanks TLC2 for the holiday cheer. I have made a decision to have a great holiday no matter what. It should be whatever people need and want. I know my A will only think of himself but I hope somewhere in there is an awareness of others.
In support,
Nancy

thank you TLC2 this is a very very hard time of the year for me, I am 14 and about a year and a half ago I began to understand the concept of alcoholism, my dad in recovery and lemme tell you living with him is not always easy. And then on the other hand having an alcoholic mother who denys everything about being an alcoholic and refuses to get help, my parents are divorced which makes it even worse. But anyways, last year my Daddy got drunk and past out, and I totally freaked out and called one of my dad's friends, (well she is my friend as well now) she is also in the AA program and she came right over and got me, and told my dad she was taking us and to call when he was sober, and all of this was about three weeks before christmas, and still he got no better for a week he continued to drink, and then on the second week he went into detox, when I had heard that, that is when it got bad I started to get suicidal, on christmas Day my mother brought me over to my dad's house and had to watch us do christmas with him, which is hard because he was still a bit buzzed, and ever since then Christmas is not my favorite time of year, I am afriad of the episode repeating, thank you for your kind words, it makes me feel so much better that there are other people out there that have a hard time around this season as well as me, for a similar reason, feel free to email me any time I could always use someone to talk to chattergirl686@yahoo.com
