This week has been tough. My seven-year relationship ended this week. The original break-up was a few months ago, but we'd been talking and I had had hope that we could work it out. The finality of the break has left me a little stunned, saddened, and I feel a great loss. I've been grieving and allowing myself to cry and feel all of my feelings: anger, sadness, lonliness, and loss. Admidst all of this, I have been SO GRATEFUL for the program. My anchor has been the mantra: "Take care of yourself FIRST" along with the slogans: Live and Let Live, Easy Does It, One Day at A Time, Say what you mean, don't say it mean." If the relationship has to end, I want to make sure I conduct myself with dignity and, as one of you recently said, without leaving my claw marks on it. LOL.
This morning I was feeling sad and tearful. I had a coupon for the local Massage School for a discount, and I made an appointment for one of the more luxurious packages--1 1/2 hour massage with facial and body scrub. As the masseuse worked, I pretended that it was my Higher Power who was soothing me with his/her touch, and telling me how much I meant to him/her as a Child of God, and how much he/she loved me. I felt sooo cared for and when I left, I felt grounded, centered, joyful and vibrant.
The more that I am in the program, the more I learn about what it really means to take care of ME, as the unique person I am. I learn who I am and what I really need to feel fully nurtured and to thrive. Thanks to the program, I am paying close attention to what helps me feel good and creating a MENU of things that nurture me.
Of course, coming to the board to post and read is one of my menu items! I appreciate everyone's posts; I get soooo much ES&H here! Thank you!!!

It does get better ~ slowly but surely ~ good for you for nurturing you !!!!!! I love it. Here's a non-CAL approved book that is fantastic. It's an easy read and the poems will have you feeling a range of emotions.
I am happy that you see the "Light". I, too, am starting to see a light. I don't yet see the end of my tunnel, but see a light guiding my way. I am glad you enjoyed the massage, you deserve it!

Sorry to hear of your break up. You seem to be taking care of your self which is very important. It is good that the program is helping you. I too have learn alot from it since I have been here for 13 months. Like you I am getting stronger.
