mine are to keep doing what Ive been doing since mid Oct when I realized I needed help:
1) AlAnon meeting on Sat morn (thanks Megan for keeping me at it). They will be starting the steps and I'm planning on doing them w/them.
2) Keep attending weekly Mass
3) Keep doing at least 30mins of physical exercise every day. Some days I do WalkAwayThePounds 1/2hr DVD in the morn and end w/Curves 30mins after work.
Whats your resolutions?

Barb,
To me Resolutions are an easy thing to break. But I have a few goals which I think are good to reach for:
1. To find a better job, one that I truly love.
2. To stay as healthy as I can be, but not obsess.
3. To stay focused on my recovery, and not loose myself should he relapse (knock on wood).
4. To visit my best friend in California whom I haven't seen in 10 years.
5. To always LIVE STRONG.
I don't think that these are unatteniable (sp?) nor unreasonable.
Live strong,
Karilynn

Right up there at the top is to quit drinking so much coffee and pass up the cigarettes! All that stuff can give you as much jitters and cloudy thinking as if I were hung over!.....jaja

I am not going to stop smoking this year or lose weight. I am going to focus on myself and vow to continue learning how to be a better mother to my children. I am also going to take at least one class towards my degree this year.

Hey Barbara,
Thanks for your post - it made me think of what my resolutions should and can be. I usually don't make them, since I try to do this stuff all year long, but your post makes me think of what things I want to focus on in the following year. They are: keep on exercising/walking, to clear my mind of all the clutter related to my recovering A and my OWN recovery with OCD; try to focus on ME and MY future goals, and to put these ideas into action; keep on working the steps, to finally get thru them at least once (lol); to make a decision to finally step outside the box and start a new career; and to be a blessing to everyone that I meet. I'm sure there are tons more things I could list, but these are a few of the things I could think of right now.
Thanks again for your post...

Dear Barbara,
The fags, smokes, ciggies, coffin nails!!!!!!!
I am 54, have smoked since 15 (yikes dont do the math).
My sponsor is a wonderful person, in her eighties now, apparently, used to smoke (hard to picture her with a ciggie, but it is true). When I had a never ending cough, she said, talk to your doc, sometimes, when a doctor tells us, we can take in the information. Talked to doc, had a chest/lung Xray. Thankfully, no lumps or anything, but, suggestion is to have a spiro-something? where you blow in a tube - just in case breathing gets worse. What? Me?
Now, something terrible has happened. My sponsor's daughter (2 yrs younger than me), has lung cancer.
I cant keep taking my health for granted. Have made 2 appointments at Stop Smoking Clinic, cancelled them both. But, I am going to go and do it.... I know I can, have stopped for 3 month before, now, have to really, really go for it.
Wish me luck!
Lots of love,
Flora
