bless my partner , he got up and out of bed earliy [ well for him ] to come and view a dead wale that was on the beach near our home . i am so pleased he did this . one because my son and i really really wanted to see it , and i want to build memories that are not to do with booze in any way . also ther was a chance he would bump into my eldest daughter who phoned to tell us it was there. Who i feel may well dislike my partner with a passion [ its one of those long stories of alchol and violence and male ego . no one was arressted or hurt and i was`t there so i dont really knows what happened] and he knows it . before he has avoided any contact or even the risk of it so i feel it was a step forward. tommorrow we are up early.He is still sober which i am very thankfull for

There is somthing about us women. I too am a "memory maker". Many of my motivations are to make special memories.
Now that my kids are aging (they are so old at 6 and 7 LOL) I am finding that their special memories are often not the ones that I tried to create. There is so much I have to learn about what is NOT in my control
I am jealous that you got to see a dead whale tho. I am miles and miles from the ocean. In fact, i grew up in the mountains. Never even set a foot in an ocean
Hold on to the fact the your other half crawled out of bed to do something that you want, even though he didn't want to... we can learn a lesson from that

I love animals, nature & have always had some weird fascination for bones & death.
Thanks for sharing your story of "togetherness". I too have many memories of natural occurences that stand out greatly in my mind.
I am happy that your A is sober & you are actively finding "new" & different things to share.
I grew up, when I was a teenager, I would cry to my mom & say, "I want to be a human being not a human doing." If I wasn't performing or doing something, it was like I was wasting my life is how they (mom & step-dad) made me feel.
I take time to look around, smell the roses. God Bless God, for having patience with me, I sure don't have any but HP has never given up on me.

P.S. Capt: I will say, that my mother repeatted stories to me over the years, about myself, things I said or did. It really means a lot, to know yourself, way to pass it on. If it isn't important to you, it won't be important to your kids, that was sweet.
