Hello everyone, Happy Thanksgiving to my family here. I am greatful for all the love and support you have shown me. Right now my family is snoozing, kitty included. I just got up from a nap. This has been the most blessed, and wondrful day. My A is sober, and he was bouncing around the house this morning saying how a year ago he was obsessed with his meetings (nothing wrong with that), but this is the happiest Thanksgiving he's ever had and now he's obsessed with living and loving those around him. I watched him this morning playing with the cat, as only he can do, helping me cook and enjoying his surroundings. He said this was so much better than looking at life at the end of a bottle. He realizes how lucky he is, even when he has rough days. I have seen such an emmense change in him this past month. He's learning to slow down, and working hard at his mental health issues. He still loves his meetings, but isn't obsessed or upset with himself if he misses one. It's amazing to watch a man who was pretty much agnostic find his HP and enjoy quiet moments with him. I watched with tears in my eyes as he played with the cat, and saw such a smile on his face I haven't seen in years. What a man I have and love very much. It's been a great day. I thank my HP for sending me to this board, for helping my A find his way through the darkness, sending us a very lovey, but goofy kitty, and sending the snow we love so much. I thank my HP for this day. How incredibly lucky I am! For all of you who are struggling out there with your As, hang in there. There is always hope. A year ago I wasn't so sure what the holidays were going to be like. It can happen for you. I hope and I pray it does. Be gentle with your As. They are strong, brave, and loving people. They are fighting a battle only they know. Give it time, and hope. This is a day of giving thanks. I thank my HP for this day. It's been the happiest I've know for a very long time. I hope it is for all of you. Live strong, Karilynn
