Chrissy,
Yeah! Now did you two have a chaperone? I think it's great that you are going to put your marriage first. Amanda will come around when she sees that no matter how hard she tries to "sabotage" things as kids try and do at that age, that it won't work.
Guard you heart, and take baby steps. You're doing just fine. Keep being good to yourself. Have a great weekend. You deserve it. I'm proud of you.
Live strong,
Karilynn

I'm glad your putting your Marriage first.
While we are responsible for our children and it is important to care avout their feelings and wishes, you are the adults and she is the child. We cannot let our children make decisions in our lives.
I hope she does come around in time. Be gentle with her, let her know that you deserve to be happy as well and that you love your husband and want to be with him.
Have fun you guys!
Love Jeannie

Chrissy,
Something to think about from my experience. I would love to think I could have put my marriage first. In early sobriety it wouldn't be the right thing for me to do. My sobriety had to come first. Without that there is no chance of me having a healthy relationship with any one (including myself.)
After two years I'm still sorting out how to heal the damage I did to myself, my wife, our marriage, our kids. Even with the best honorable intentions it's not easy and still very frustrating and confusing.
Best of luck and don't let your expectations lead to major letdowns when you run into snags. This is something that has been a major problem for both my ex and myself.
