I just found this board and was so excited to find it. I haven't attended an AlAnon meeting since last July when I moved from one state to another. I am really beginning to feel the need for meetings but there are so few here compared to all the choices that I had while living in MA. While looking for meetings I found this board and I am so happy. I have been reading my literature but feel myself slipping back to my old ways. It's time that I get control of my life once again one day at a time. I look plan on going through the posts today as I'm sure that I will find many things that will hit home and be helpful.

Hi Froggie and welcome to MIP
This is a wonderful alanon recovery site.
There are online meetings in the chat rooms if there are not any meetings near where you now live.
Those meetings were my alanon lifeline when I did not have a car to get to meetings.
I still attend them and always get alot of of the shares
Welcome Home

Hi Froggie and welcome... I completely idetify with feeling like I'm reverting back to some unhealthy behaviors. I have stepped away from Alanon before to take care of other necessary things in my life, but always realized that I wasn't taking care of me. Coming back to this website and reading my literature has helped me stay focused on recovery. I have had difficulties getting to F2F meetings as well due to my schedule and kids, but I feel like if I can make at least 2-3 a month combined with this board and my literature I can still progress. You have to gauge how many meetings work for you... Keep posting
Take care~

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's so nice to know that I now have someplace to go. I do plan on the chats and love the fact that they are nightly. There is nothing like attending a meeting but knowing that this is also available is just so wonderful. I miss my Al Anon group in MA. I made wonderful friends there and learned so much. Just wondering if someone could help me with the acronyms used on this board.
Again thanks for the warm welcome and I look forward to getting to know all of you better.
